There have been two official lines of figures by Mezco Toyz based on characters in The Warriors along with a whole host of bootleg or custom figures made by other companies and fans of the movie.
9 Inch Figures
After Mezco Toyz released their first set of 10 inch figures they went back to the drawing board to create a new set of figures which are much more realistic and articulate than the first set. The new figures have alternate hands and are a huge improvement over the more ‘cartoony’ style of the previous set. The first line of figures include the yellow/black Baseball Fury with baseball bat, the red/black Baseball Fury (limited to 200 pieces), Swan with switchblade and Molotov cocktail, Orphans Leader (Sully) with razor and newspaper cutting of the Orphan’s raid and Ajax with handcuffs and baseball bat. The figures come packaged in a cardboard case which can be opened and sealed easily.
10 Inch Figures
Before the 9 inch figures were released, Mezco Toyz produced these 10 inch figures. All the figures come in a protective plastic clam shell package. If you decide to remove them from their packaging, the figures can be articulated into many positions. The series includes Swan with bowie knife, switchblade, lead pipe and spray can; Cleon with nunchucks, rumble chain and spray can; Cochise with molotov cocktail, nail board and spray can; Ajax (with no included accessories as he is the heavy muscle); Luther with handgun, broken bottle and unbroken bottles; and a Baseball Fury with two baseball bats (one broken). There are three Baseball Furies which were released in the series (not counting the special editions below). These were the yellow-faced fury (most common), the orange-faced Fury and the red/black-faced Fury. The figures can be found in dirty and clean variants where the dirty versions show the figures with battle scars and wounds.
Purple Baseball Fury
Mezco Toyz also produced 1,500 purple Baseball Furies which were sold exclusively through Toywiz.com and are available in clean and dirty styles.
Green Baseball Fury
Mezco also produced a green and white Baseball Fury exclusive to Toywiz.com. They were produced in a limited run of just 100 and are the rarest figure in the set.
Blue Baseball Fury
In addition to the series one figures, there is a further Baseball Fury variant. This is a limited edition with a blue face which were produced in a limited run of 205. They were produced for the San Diego Comic Con of 2005.
Bootleg Figures
In addition to the figures produced by Mezco Toyz, there are quite a few different ‘bootleg’ figures of characters from The Warriors.
This is a Tech Deck Dude called Cheeze who appears to be modeled on a cross between Cleon and Ajax. Reading the back of the box confirms that this figure is indeed based on The Warriors.
These Bounty Hunters / Furies are extremely rare and seem to be derived from Japan. The pack appears to contain three Baseball Furies.
Custom Action Figures
Fans of The Warriors have also been putting their creative talents to use by creating customised one-off action figures.
The first one here is an action figure of a Baseball Fury, created by Jim Abucewicz. It was apparently a hit at a movie convention and it is not hard to see why! The second Fury is a custom figure made by “Johnny”.
Uriah’s Figures
These excellent figures have been made by our forum user Uriah.
18 inch Fury
This 18 inch figure is from the Sideshow Collectibles Pop Culture Shock Collectibles ‘The Warriors’ Series.
Lionsring and Co. Custom Figures
Lions (aka “LIONS ON THE RED CARPET” in the forum) certainly deserves his own section as he’s made loads of custom figures which are widely regarded by our members as some of the best. Here’s a photo of the Mezco Series 1 figures with some of his customs including Cropsey and some of his repaints of the Baseball Fury figures.
Lions has also created the following figures: Rembrandt, Mercy, Lizzie, Hi-Hat, Bopper, Vermin, Masai, Cyrus, Apache Orphan, Cowboy, Snow (complete with packaging and boombox), Fox, Orphans Leader, Punk, Savage Hun, Turnbull AC and an Electric Eliminator.
