Re: Possibly found a new production photo!

Weird to see the boys aggressive against civilians.  I like how the movie gets you behind The Warriors.  People who you wouldn't normally support.

Re: Swan, Mercy and the Prom Couples

The way this scene plays out to me:  The prom couple represent the wealthy looking down on the lower class.  Swan stops mercy as if to tell her to accept who she is and not to change herself in order to impress those that think they are better than her.  The prom couple represent what the warriors ...

Re: RIFFS

Why wasn't the riffs out looking hard for the warriors they was just letting every other gang look? Good question.  Maybe because they were the largest gang in the city, (and they don't have to take any s**t) they could have the smaller gangs do there bidding.  Why would the Riffs send their own me...

Re: Which fight SHOULD have happened, but didn't...

I would love to the turnbull acs vs the warriors instead of the warriors running the turnbull acs would give the warriors a good fight i reckon. They knew they would have got racked if they would have stood there ground against the Turnbull AC's.  That's why it's good to have a mix of people in a g...

Re: Is the Warriors Sexist?

I don't think the movie is sexist.  Admittedly, I didn't know what sexism was the first time I saw The Warriors.  Mercy never backed down, she did what she had to do to survive both on that night and on other nights.  It seemed to me that she was a prostitute.  I saw no pimp.  (Unless the Orphans we...

Re: What is your favorite non vocal part in the movie?

I love the first 10 minutes of the film with the music playing and the Warriors riding the subway.  Love the score.  Ajax? shadow boxing the hand holding thing.  It's a perfect mix of verbal and non-verbal.  You can really get into each character from the first part.  'Magic.....whole lotta magic'

Re: worst gang

The Orphans don't deserve to be a gang.... I would tend to agree except for Apache.  I would love to see him get drafted to the Warriors.  They could have taken him instead of Mercy.  Mercy was dead weight.  Apache would have helped them bop all the way back to C.I...the big Coney 'Were gonna...

Niagara Falls, Ontario here.  Also a big Maiden fan (mostly earlier stuff I stopped being a superfan around Powerslave)  Anyways, so glad to find so many people who are into the Warriors as much as I am.  Nice to be able to discuss an obsession of mine with people who are interested.  I have made ev...

Re: Who is against the 2008 remake?

From what I have read the only thing the 2 movies will have in common is the title.  Which to me seems like they are using the Warriors brand for instant recognition.  If the movie is bad it will still get the box office from everyone who loved the first movie.  If there are no gangs from the first ...

Re: Introduction

Nice to meet everyone as well.  First time I saw the movie was the day before I went to Summer camp for the first time.  Was early july '83.  ABC? Movie of the Week.  Even that version made an impact on me.  It has been my favorite movie since.  Have seen it 100's and 100's of times.  Vermin & Ajax ...
