Re: American Gigolo
Had no idea that the VGV tag was referencing BOULEVARD NIGHTS. Very cool. GIGOLO was released in February of 1980 and actually filmed and completed in '79 so it makes sense that WARRIORS would still be playing. Or, the GIGOLO production team placed the WARRIORS items there and dressed the theater fo...

Re: WARRIORS Trailer Fanmade
I went to a Walter Hill triple bill at the cinema around 12 years ago. They could only aquire the prints to the Warriors and Driver. The 3rd film was John Woo's the Killer. We were puzzled why the included it, but was told it was for the big announcement that Walter Aquired the rights for a remake....

Re: WARRIORS Trailer Fanmade
Yes, I'm a big Walter Hill fan, not just WARRIORS. I am, or was , very excited to see the new Hill film, but it's been tempered by the fact that the film was pushed back from its original release date (April 13) and reportedly been taken from Hill to be re-edited by star Stallone (something the man ...

Re: WARRIORS Trailer Fanmade
Thanks a lot, ILLER. Glad to hear someone watched it. :) The laserdisc is full-frame, open matte and completely barebones. No extra footage. It was issued on the format only once by Paramount, in 1981. That is an indicator of the film's overall lack of recognition / popularity throughout a good chun...

WARRIORS Trailer Fanmade
A trailer I recently unearthed from my "archives," which I made nearly 20 years ago. This was edited the old-fashioned way on a 3/4" video decks with footage I sourced from my Paramount laserdisc and a television copy of the film (for the edited "lose these clowns" line). The sorry voiceover is my o...

Re: WARRIORS SCREENING @ BAM ON HALLOWEEN
That's actually Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). The Brooklyn Museum, which is an art museum, is a completely different venue. The guest at the 7:30 screening on 10/31 will be David Patrick Kelly, making what is billed as his first public appearance on behalf of the film. He is slated to introduce t...

Re: The Warriors on Blue Ray
I have it on Blueray and it is indeed fantastic, but i do prefer to watch my ultimate d/c dvd on my Panasonic dvd recorder which UPSCALES the dvd via hdmi onto my 1080p tv. Your Blu-ray player, in fact any Blu-ray player, will UPSCALE standard DVDs, too. I don't quite understand why one would cho...

As has been posted, Shaber has sadly been gone from this world for nearly 10 years. Not quite sure why all this is coming up now. The comment from his daughter was posted years ago.

Re: Walter Hill's Reflection
Others will have to corroborate, but I believe we also see Walter Hill at an earlier point in the film. During the scene at the "96th Street Station" (really the interior of the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station) when the gang is first split up, several Warriors--I believe Swan, Snow, Ajax, and Cowboy--run...

As for Remar's Bostonian origins, when he says his famous "popsicle" line, one can certainly detect the distinctive Boston dialect.

Marcelino Sanchez pic
Glad you appreciated the info.
Don't know where Marcelino's grave is, but I would guess that it is in Bklyn since that is where he spent most of his life and where his immediate family was.
I always thought of 'CleonsChoice' as a euphemism for 'Swan,' but you can call me 'Cleon.'
