Re: R.I.P. Sol Yurick

Very sad news - although I have read only The Warriors - there's another book of his that I wanted to read - I believe it is called Fertig - its the novel he wrote just after The Warriors. It was also made into a movie called The Confession starring Ben Kingsley and Alec Baldwin. Is that right? Goo...

Re: Couple of ‘location’ questions if anyone knows the answe

Google street view is a big help as well. If you have trouble finding the Ophans location in Queens, Search for Y and Y Barbers. I joint run a facebook warriors fan page. I'll be doing a daily location feature at some point in the next few weeks; probably after christmas. Keep an eye on this page.....

Re: THE WARRIORS SOUNDTRACK an underrated classic

Thanks for the post - I can picture a young Chevy Chase providing backup vocals for "In Havana". The soundtrack is solid man, and as the writer of this article implies, underrated. I agree with Ninth Delegate about the inclusion of some of the interlude bits in the movie - that would be nice to have...

Re: R.I.P. Sol Yurick

That's sad news - I like reading his intro in the The Wariors book, reading his comments on how he developed the story and his thoughts on seeing the movie.

Re: Why Didnt they Take thier Colors off?

The moment The Warriors would take their colours off the Orphans would have snickered and gone after them right there and than - not that The Warriors were scared - no they were ready to fight anyone - but with their vests ON

Apparently Tony Scott had inoperable brain cancer and left notes for his family. Poor guy.

Re: Tony Scott commits suicide

Just read this news - and had to come to this site to confirm if he was the same director reportedly to work on a Warriors reload. Never saw Top Gun - but did see a whole host of other movies he made - and I really liked his take on Pelham 1-2-3. When I see that film, its the dialogue that grabs you...

Hey thanks for sharing. Always liked the fact that Sol Yurick loved this opening sequence when he saw the film.
