Re: Warriors: Jailbreak #1 Review

Welcome Erik.  The Jailbreak series has me more pumped about the Warriors than I've been in a long while. I realize these aren't the morst articulate characters to write but that's why we love them and you are nailing it - keep em' street!  Can't wait for issue 2 -thanks for honoring us with a first...

Re: Warriors: Jailbreak #1 Review

We'll since you exposed the Swan/Ajax plot point, I guess we can talk about it!  I figured Ajax fans would take issue with his Warchief right of passage fight.  Having Swan win does make what we see in the movie make sense.  When Ajax challenges him in the cemetary, Swan doesn't miss a beat, calling ...

The Dabel Bros. may have just givin us our sequel...

in comic form.  I just posted a review of the first issue of the new Warriors ongoing series from Dabel Bros. in the Comic forum.  I was skeptical about this series because the movie adaptation comics left me cold.  But I can't recommend this new series enough.  There is a ton of great stuff crammed...

Warriors: Jailbreak #1 Review

I just read issue 1 and have to say I may have been wrong about the Dabel Bros. being able to come through with the goods.  I was totally unimpressed with their Warriors movie adaptation comics but if issue 1 of the ongoing Warriors series is any indication, they may have hit their stride.  The firs...

Re: Warriors: Unrealistic?

None of the fights are realistic but Walter Hill knew what he was doing with fight sequences.  Watch again and take notice of how each fight is ratcheted up a notch danger and stakes building to the awesome bathroom brawl with the Punks.  The fight with the Furries is the first time we get to see th...

Re: Hi

Welcome aboard Bill.  Were you a stunt double for Fox?  Can we see you in any random chase scenes or when Fox and the cop wrestle in the subway station?  Like others have requested, pics of your vest would be highly prized here.  Please take a moment to snap a few to share with us.

Warriors Costume Screening in Austin

Ohh how I've longed for this... Finally after countless cable, video and DVD viewings, I'm going to get to see The Warriors on the big screen!  And to make it even more memorable the hardcore boppers will be rockin' costumes.  Costumes = ticket discounts - not that I needed an excuse to wera my vest...

Too bad this artist isn't doing the interior art for the book.  That cover is awesome.

Re: My opinions on the comic (Note: spoilers, but not of any

Agree whole heartedly with your review - was completely underwhelmed.  The art is better than the first few pics we saw suggested but I think it is becuase of the excellent coloring.  That said, even the coloring couldn't save the big splash page of the conclave.  What a huge missed opportunity.  Th...

I have a work in progress 1949 Chevy Styleline Deluxe.  Probably still a few years from being done.  In the meantime I rock a 2001 Hyundai.

Afro Samurai baby.  The 360 graphics look like manga came to life and jumped off the page.

Re: Being an up and coming gang saved the Warriors

Thanks GramercyRiff99.  I've seen the movie so many times (since my original veiwing on cable TV back in the 80s) that I'm suprised this just donned on me. You have a point on the 120 member count.  This seems small by today's gang standards but back then might have put the Warriors into that high n...

Being an up and coming gang saved the Warriors

I was watching the movie today and something hit me.  I think the reason the 9 delegates from the Warriors did as well as they did was because they were a relatively new/small gang - they didn't even register on the RIFFS network.    I know this is counter intuative but think about it for a second. ...
