Re: what do you do?
Well I've just finished high school and still have a few months before I start college, so I guess you could say I'm unemployed at the minute. Happy days.

Re: World Cup Winners
Wow, I'm at a loss for words. I didn't expect to win, but I thought the team would at least try. I doubt Capello's managerial skills, I feel sorry for those on the bench would had to watch that and didn't receive any game time at all, and I hope we can find some Englishmen proud to wear the shirt be...

Re: Vote: Fan Fic Contest FINAL!!!: Dud vs GramercyRiff99
Well, the last two posts have officially confused me. :-s
But yeah, we calling this a tie? More votes probably wouldn't have gone amiss, but eh, well done to every involved in the competition anyway. 8)

Re: World Cup Winners
I'm not too sure, I think we're going to lose. Not trying to be unpatriotic or anything, but I've seen a couple of Germany's games, and there is a massive gulf of class between them and us, a team who looked dismal against Algeria. I mean, I'll be happy if we do get a result, but realistically, I do...

Re: movies that have things to do with the warriors
Glad to be of assistance. 8) I remember someone posted it a while back, and it was just a case of searching "Ugly Betty paintball" on YouTube. Actually, if we could find that thread, it might have a few other cases of references to the Warriors in it; maybe some that haven't been mentioned in here y...

Hey, Swan, were you talking about the paintball scene?
If so, here it is on the 'Tube
Around the 3:50 mark.

Re: What's this?
Apparently Fox's real name is Peter Parker.. ::)
Dudit: So I realised this was maybe an obscure reference; was implying Fox was Spiderman due to how he's just stuck to the wall. Should've made it more clear. D:

"We're gonna rain on you Purifiers!"
Nah, doesn't really have the same effect, does it?

Re: World Cup Winners
I think it's time we call a spade a spade and just admit that although we may have been the best team in the group, we've been shown up by countries who've had hunger, drive and determination - barely any people pulling on the England shirt on these last two outings have had any of those things; mos...

Re: World Cup Winners
It's not so much what makes me think that, but I'm sure Spain would expect Brazil/Brasil to win their group. Although, with all these recent shocks, I'm not so sure. I almost forgot, what do England fans on this forum think about the team after today's performance against Algeria? Do they even deser...

Re: the warriors soccer team
"'Keepers" is a short-hand way of saying "Goalkeepers" - or if you were asking for why they were called "Goalkeepers" in general, then I believe it's because they're meant to keep the ball out of the goal.
Although that may be wrong, as I just thought that up off the top of my head. ;D

Re: Vote: Fan Fic Contest FINAL!!!: Dud vs GramercyRiff99
Don't think I'm gonna vote in this, for obvious reasons. ;o Although I will wish GR99 the best of luck; that was a nice piece you put up man. Was certainly different, and offered a more casual, humourous feel. I would say I would've liked a bit of action, but that's kinda hypocritical coming from me...

Re: the warriors soccer team
Certainly an interesting thought, and Swan, your plan is pretty good. Although I would suggest Ajax and his hard-hitting personality may be better in the center of midfield. Fox would probably be better on one of the wings or maybe as a full-back (or as you say, a lateral defender), due to him being...

Re: World Cup Winners
Don't think so, Gramercy, it's the other way around. If Spain wanted to avoid Brazil (or is that Brasil?) in the next round, they would have to win their group.Gramercy Riffs Yeh Right wrote: spain threw that game to finish runners up and avoid brazil in the next stage
Also, as Cyrus said, it is a very risky strategy.

Re: World Cup Winners
I know Spain lost today, but after watching the match I can't help but feel they might be a good bet for winners. Some of the football they played at times was awesome. 8)
