DVD regionalization has absolutely nothing to do with television broadcast standards. Neither does it, nor has it ever had anything to do with compact discs, MC or VHS tapes.Region 1 is a format for VHS, DVD, CD's, and some audio tapes.

You can print out a contemporary map of the subway and keep it in the box... http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/7213/yeoldemappe4rr.th.png For its inclusion as a DVD feature, Paramount would probably need a permission from the whichever-US-government-institution-it-is that is responsible for New York'...

Re: 6 Deleted Scenes of the Movie...
Too bad the quality is so wretched. Still, I converted those scenes to a mini-DVD, along with some other "extras", and I'll keep the disc with them as a proper "bonus feature" DVD in the box with the Unbelievably Disgraceful Cut.

Re: DVD Update
The deleted scenes were indeed terrible, and - as 98% of deleted scenes in 98% of films - they were removed for good reasons (particularly that imbecilic day opening)... but that was not a valid reason to make them unavailable for viewing at all. The vast majority of deleted scenes are worthless and...

Re: The Warriors Movie Remake...
Yes... Give the development of a film to a company that develops games. In other ingenious ideas - put nurses in charge of the police in every city all over the world and hand over NASA's Mars missions to milk delivery companies. By the way - an adaptation of one medium into another is not a remake ...

Re: A Crap sandwich it will be Indeed
The film will have nothing to do with "The Warriors". And it will be titled "The Warriors". The promotional campaign and the producers will stress the nonexistant "relation" between the 2006 film and "The Warriors", and will no doubt make sure that the trailer contains extensive references to the re...

Gang Uniform Changes
If more than two characters in the remake are given any name that is taken from the original, I will be quite surprised. As for the look... it's obvious, of course, that if the remake features one "gangsta" character wearing a leather jacket (rather than the MTV-unfashionable vest) with a gang's nam...

Re: Original Script
The script was made into a movie. That movie was titled "The Warriors" and was released in 1979. And, just like every movie, it went through obvious and understandable rewrites. Rewrites which, judging by the relatively minute differences between the available draft and the final film, were not near...

Re: From Paramount U.K. REGION 2 is the SAME AS REGION 1
In both places the information that the two releases are supposedly identical comes from the same person, one "Martin Jeeves"... In other words, there is absolutely no confirmation of it at this point.

Re: From Paramount U.K. REGION 2 is the SAME AS REGION 1
Considering that quite a few online UK stores have been advertising the UK disc as having a commentary and the deleted scenes, this description must have come from the official source - the publisher. If this really turns out to be false and if the UK disc is going to be identical to the bad US rele...

Early Review of Region 1 DVD
This truly defies belief. And I still find it shocking that it was, supposedly, Walter Hill's very own decision. If true, then the "director's cut" is, in this case, definable as a merciless mutilation rather than expansion or improvement... In fact, since the term of self mutilation has functioned ...

Re: Early Review of Region 1 DVD
"Disappointing" would be a severe understatement.
And... comic book insertions? Truly revolting.

Re: INITIATION !
Typical street gang initiations - in reality, of course - consist of participation in a "hit" (nowadays usually a drive-by shooting) and being "jumped" by selected members of the gang for 2-5 minutes.
Female candidates are often given, to use gang terminology again, "the train".
