Hello everybody,
I'm writing from Italy (sorry for my english...) and I'm going to visit NY for the very first time next June.
I'd like to find some locations related to The Warriors movie.
For sure, I'll visit Coney Island and I would like to know if the reconversions has been finished or if I still could see the luna park. Is there a mural?
Please let me know... and, if possible, suggest me any other particular location to visit.
Last thing: is there in NY a souvenir shop with The Warriors t-shirt??
Many thanx..!!!!
Lorenzo

Re: First time in NY searching for The Warriors locations
Hey buirstel, from Italy, welcome to the forum.
So you don't have to jump around all over the forum to find location names, here's a compilation of locations:
- Riverside Park between W 96th and 97th St. (conclave)
- W. 100th St. (Baseball Furies chase)
- W. 100th St. and Riverside Dr. (the big firefighters' memorial where they jumped over a park bench)
- around W. 99th and Riverside Dr. (the steps which the Furies chased the Warriors down) The 1 train runs through here (96th St. and 110th St. Cathedral Pkwy stations are close by)
- 72nd St. subway, where the Warriors and Furies first meet
- Speedy Lock and Door Co. on Avenue A, off E. 1st St. (candy store where Luther makes 1st phone call)
- little auto repair spot, NE corner of Great Jones St. and Bowery St. (gas station scene) (it may still be there by June) Lower Eastside-2nd Av. station is closest to these. F and V stop here (V runs weekdays only)
- Union Square subway, where Punk follows Swan around
- 45th Rd. between 21st St. and 23rd St.(Queens), where they met the Orphans (take the 7 train to 45th Rd. Court House Square station) (the greeting card store, seen in the movie, is now a barber shop)
- Broadway Junction (Brooklyn), where the Turnbull ACs chased them (the A, C, J, and L trains stop here. The Z is rush hour only). I'm told that the station they were chased to no longer exists.
- walk up to Stewart St. and go right. When you get to the end, you'll see the pedestrian tunnel where the Warriors got out of the rain. To the left is Cooke Ct., where that wall is in that scene
- walk through the tunnel and you'll be heading right for the grave yard (Evergreen Cemetery). Hickory Knoll is where this scene was, and is near the entrance. The cemetery closes at 4:30pm.
- New Utrecht Av.- 62nd St. station (Brooklyn), where they ran from the Orphans after the explosion (the D, M and N trains stop here. The D and M run above the street, so, when you get off, follow the signs to these, if you're taking the N. The N runs through the cut). I didn't see much else that I recognized here.
- Hoyt-Schermerhorn subway (Brooklyn), where most subway station scenes were shot (the A, C, and G trains stop here). You probably won't be taking the G, since it runs between Queens and Brooklyn. It's the only train that doesn't go into Manhattan)
Where to get a Warriors T-shirt..... Coney Island, of course. D, F, N, and Q all go to Stillwell Av. I like the N the best.... fewer stops. The main entrance to this station is on the corner of Surf Av. and Stillwell. Go down Stillwell one block to Bowery (toward the beach). On the right side of the street is a souvenir shop run by a Russian family.
- btw, 12th and Bowery is where we saw the Rogues turn the corner to follow the Warriors down Bowery. You'll recognize that spot as you face the Cyclone and apartment bldgs in the background.
- the bath house, where the Rogues stopped to "Wa-a-a-arrrri-i-io-o-rrrsss, come out to play-i-iyy-a-ay", was demolished, I think. Couldn't find it.
Still trying to find out where the Lizzies' and the Riffs' hide-outs where.
That's all I can think of for now. You might print this stuff out to take with you on your trip.

Hey no sweat, riff. Good thing we got subway maps and googlemaps.
btw, we just got a report from the Bronx. Some small-time click ran into them. The Orphans.

You can even check some of them out with Google streetview.
