Ajax could have easily escaped...

Well i was thinking about this earlier, in the beginning of the movie when Cyrus gets shot and everyone breaks out into panic, The Warriors break in a fence(mostly Ajax did) and escaped. Now when Ajax gets handcuffed to the bench, how come he could not simply break the wood, and escape from the cops?

It makes me think if he was just not thinking.

You are comparing two completely different things (this also has been covered in
previous threads, but WTH). Try punching thru an old, brittle, stiff wood fence.
Any of us could probably do it.

Now, think about a relatively new park bench like that. The lats on that thing are
thick. They are also chemically and pressure treated. Most importantly tho, they
are FLEXIBLE. They give under pressure. They will bend, and absord even Ajax level
rage. He was screwed all the way. Too bad it was his own fault.

As SubWar points out, they're treated to withstand NY's weather extremes, from stiflingly hot summers to being encased in ice for three months!

yeah but in colorado they have really cold ones made out of some type of fiber glass that if you hit hard enough they will fall apart like glass





and in mississippi they have some very nice benches that are aged to perfection if you hit the right spot they will crumble to dust
