Do you mean 'real' like, actually existed in NY as a gang, or existed in the film or book?

None are real, they were all made up for the movie.

they all existed in the film even though you might not have seen them but they do not exist in real life.

As people have said - none of them were real, used for the film. However, some of the gangs were based on real live gangs in New York at the time of the filming.

I believe there was a gang fight at some point in the filming and the actors and set had to be moved because some gang wasn't happy with them being on their "turf". How cool is that.
And the Director had to cast some real gang members to keep them happy - such a brilliant movie.

I love this place!!

Peace xx

The crew and set even got some kind of protection from a real local gang called The Homocides.
SUPER HAPPY PINEAPPLE MAN!

PLEASE RESIZE YOUR SIG TO THE CURRENT RULES
