Anywho, I like both the Star Wars movies and The Warriors. I'm not so broken up about the changes they made to the original Star Wars trilogy because I've most likely never saw (or remember) the original version, because that wasn't my generation. Heck, I was seven when the Special Edition versions were released, and that was LONG before I realized how kickass Star Wars was.
Hm...now who would win, Ajax or Vader? *Coughcough*VADER*Coughcough*
Sorry Space Toaster don't agree, sounds like a new treat is on the market to me called a light saber popsicle.

Back on topic, I never saw the attraction to the Star Wars series, so I've always looked at the Warriors as being above it (feel free to castrate me, die hard's!).

Yeah, and Hill even released a crappy special edition, just like Lucas.

Re: The Warriors is the new Star Wars
STAR WARS has had a massive impact on my childhood, it has been one of my favourite sets of movies ever. I was that obsessed with star wars, if there was some sort of star wars merchandise i didnt have it was not worth having... and if there was something to do with star wars i didn't know it wasn't worth knowing. the moraleof the story is i love star wars. where as that has had a big impact on my childhood the warriors has had the same sort of impact on my teenagehood lol (if thats a word)
I don't realy think the warriors is the new star wars though, both great movies nonetheless.

Re: The Warriors is the new Star Wars
Sorry dude, but after Ep 3, Lucas left a big gaping hole in my heart. And hey! Look over there, what single film replaces the vaccuum left by Star Wars?
Warriors, baby.
The place in my heart that was reserved for a Galaxy far, far away, is now filled with a dirty NYC that never was.
Warriors 4VR!

Re: The Warriors is the new Star Wars
Like most kids in the 70's, Star Wars was a big part of my life back then. It was the first film you saw multiple times. I saw it 7 times during that summer and my parents thought I was crazy. But as big a film that was, if I had to chose 3 films to watch on my death bed it would be (in no particular order) The Warriors, The Great Escape, and Dawn of the Dead 1979.
Re: The Warriors is the new Star Wars
i love star wars and i love the warriors, but in reality, star wars is legendary, while the warriors will be remembered.
now before things get out of hand, i ask that you please put your pitch forks and nooses away!

Raaaargh! Pitchforks deployed!
But seriously, I had to have a long look in the mirror before I could realize that I love Warriors much, much more than Star Wars.
"Self?" I said.
"Yes?"
"I think...oh god...I think I love the Warriors more than Star Wars."
The mirror blinked blankly.
"Is...is that okay?"
"It's okay Tim...it's okay. However, it's not okay to be talking to yourself in a mirror. People will think you're crazy."
"Good point Tim!"
"You're welcome Tim."

anyway ive changed my mind i saw star wars 3 on dvd yesterday and then the trilogy and then i remembered how cool they are.
but one reason i like star wars better is because of clone wars.
heres why
your sitting in your seat in the cinema, popcorn in one hand coca cola in the other. yoda comes into this room where count dooku is, yoda gets his lightsaber out you think how slow is he gonna be.
next thing you know yoda is like a lightning bolt and your in your seat shouting
YES.

Re: The Warriors is the new Star Wars
You obviously haven't heard about the upcoming Warriors prequel..."The Young Menace"...the story of how choirboy Eugene gets sucked into the nasty gang life by a ruffian down the street, who later dubs little Eugene the name of "Swan"...
But seriously, I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Warriors (original version only), but Star Wars rules too. There can never be any denying those original first three flicks. And when Star Wars '77 premieres in 3-D next year at the Ziegfeld, I'll be right there in my Luke Skywalker costume, screaming my geek head off.

Re: The Warriors is the new Star Wars
WRONG. If you say that the ONE reason that sticks out in your mind to like Star Wars is episode 2? "Yousa speakin CRAZY TALK." (say it like Jar-Jar). If I had to pick the 1st thing that pops in my mind...for even remotely redeeming Star Wars...Empire Strikes back ANIHILATES every other SW film.Warriorfan54321 wrote:alexfugazi wrote: anyway ive changed my mind i saw star wars 3 on dvd yesterday and then the trilogy and then i remembered how cool they are.
