NO I don't think he reads or get to the forum---actually, I think it came from when they were doing some 25th anniversary stuff for the WArriors movies, and he did a question/answer with the fans, and I think it came across and he just relayed on in an interview the views he picked up from fans of the original.
Also, some of his son's friends are big Fans too--and I am sure they commented to him to about it.
He has been asked about the remake in a couple of different interviews, so he has had some oppportunity to organize his thoughts on it.
