I usually watch the original because the Director's Cut doesn't work in my PS2. But the intro and comic parts get a little annoying.
THS IS 2 BIG RESIZE IT TO THE CURRENT SIG RULES

The original is the only one I'll watch.  It's what you call a ragged masterpiece.  It's rough around the edges, but that's part of what makes it great.

The only reason to get the udc is for the interviews.  Walter Hill adding those stupid comic book scenes is like spielberg editing out the guns in ET and replacing them with walkie-talkies.  Weak, unnecessary and it just doesn't work.

I like both eqully, but if I'm going to show one to someone who has never seen it or hasn't seen it in years I show the original because I feel like the power of the Furies entrance is lost in the comic book scene transitions of the new edition. Of course, I would then show the documentaries in the new edition anyway.

This is a hard one. In the warriors special edition, it was the first time i saw ajax, swan, mercy and cochise as they are now. And it has some really cool features as well like the special features, and they made it look very sweat also, it looked like it was a 2003 movie not a 1979 movie. My dad actually recorded the original movie in 1985, and i have the original one recorded in vhs.(when my dad was my age he also was a fan, and he watched the warriors in theathers like 7 times, at least thats what he told me.) But when i watched the original in vhs, i got a really weird, and cool felling the felling of( wow, im actually watching the original culture movie). And the old school look worked more for me than the look of the directurs cut. So i vote.... For the original.

I would say original.  Because it really bothered how Walter Hill put "sometime in the future".  It ruins the feeling of the 1970's.  Of course I like the interviews on this new one, and the comic book thing is alright.  The thing is, is that this film captures the whole essence of the 1970's.  Who's to say that the future will look like that.  Everything from the cloths, the street talk, the cars, and the environment represents the 70's.  I know its a fictional 70's, but its the 70's non the less.  So now all of a sudden, it is remastered, and I should believe that this is the future.  We already said that the gangs kept a more honorable and secret way of life back than.  I know crime went down now a days, but still its the gangs of the 70's, and I am sticking with the old 1979.

I hate skipping through the beginning past the annoying Greek courage thing.
I second that.

Both versions have their plus sides.  I still prefer the original because its how i remember the film and its perfect to chill out to after a night on the town.  I use the cleaned up directors cut mostly in my pc for screen grabs and research.  Every so often, its good to watch it on the main T.V.  The 5.1 surround adds a whole new viewing experience.  Turn the speakers up to max, and the back of my head vibrates when the trains go by.  My neighbors hate me

If only we could have the original version with 5.1.

I would choose the Original version of the movie because of a few reasons: the movie starts right away...it doesn't have annoying comic strips that ruin most dramatic scenes of the movie (the different shots of the Warriors when they meet the Furies, at the end after Mercy has that moment with the prom couple, when Luther shouts at the candy store girl, ohh and of course at the end-I'd rather see them walking down the beach!!!)...those parts look better in the original...it makes it look real which captures the moment...if I'm going to introduce the movie to someone who has never seen the movie before (its sad!) I would let them watch the Original first to get a feel for what the movie is about

the only good thing about the Director's cut were the few interviews, the menu, and the DVD which has the Warrior symbol
