On the way to the meeting

I've allways wondered if the gangs had such a hard time avoiding the cops on their way to the meeting as they did making the journey home. I understand that the cops were more revelant on the way home obviously because they crashed the meeting but wouldn't the cops have cought wind of all these guys wearing gang colours boarding trains all over town, come on at least one gang member from any gang must have been seen buy the cops, transit cops, subway security, or some one. What do you guys think.

I'm pretty sure the cops left them alone if no crimes were reported.

I think the cops would have let the gangs make their way to the meeting without any trouble if they saw them, because they already had people at the meeting. It would make more sense for the cops to be able to pick up many more of the bigger gang's members there, rather than some random gang member making his way down the street, unless that gang member was causing trouble.

i guess that once the meeting was over
most members didnt have any trouble getting home since its not a crime
riding the subway, even if you are wearing gang colors

I don't think the cops would have been able to stop so many gang members just riding the subway to the meeting but they were probably itching to make some arrests for the smallest reasons.

With the raid at the conclave, I think it's safe to assume the cops knew what was going on. Travelling to the conclave isn't a crime. Get them all in one place and you get them for some sort of organized criminal activity. Although, you don't see them arrest anyone. Must have been harder to do in the days before riot cuffs.

during the conclave cyrus stated that the police were outnumbered as there were over 60000 gang members compared to 20000 police in the whole town.the journey back home would have been more dangerous than the one all the gangs took to get to the meeting.as cochise said after swan stated they were going all the way back to coney every cop in the city were looking to bust every gang members head.

Thats a good point, but even if one cop did see a bunch of guys in colours, you wouldnt know if your calling for one car to help deal with 9 guys, or calling in have the police force because the entire gang was out and about.
also I think they didnt want to arouse suspicion seeing they were planning to raid the entire meeting, arresting half of them before they got there would have defeated the purpose

i reckon there would have been several bus loads of cops looking to take any gang down whose paths they crossed.
