We all know that Ajax is a brawler, doesn't feel pity, he's the toughest Warrior and much more...but without a good defense your offense is usless. Ajax never needed a defense againist the people he fought that night. The fight Ajax had w/ the lead Furie could of had a totally differant outcome if the Furie had known how to fight. Having baseball bats gave them a great advantage, but couldn't fight with or without them. Instead of going for Ajax' head, he should of went for the torso or legs. He could of broken Ajax' arm, broken his ribs, thigh bones, then crushed this skull. If the Furies had ganged up on Ajax, he could of ended up like poor Cleon. In a street brawl anything goes. The fighting in the Warriors video is more realistic. Sooner or later you will most likely end up grappling on the ground. If your on the ground, your defense is worthless...your screwed! I know I'm going get ALOT of flak for posting this. Does anyone else have a opinion...be truthful.

I agree, firstly if you have a weapon like a baseball bat you aim for the torso - if they get in the way by blocking with an arm (which would be the natural thing to do) then invariably you would break their arm.

I also find it amusing that in the baseball furies scene the other guys just "stand around" ready to jump in - in reality it would be 4v1 and you would have absolutely no chance, but hey it's a film.

Before I get flamed - I can at least claim to have some knowledge of what i'm talking about as i'm a 1st Kyu (Brown Belt) at Seiko Juko Karate and sometimes we practise fighting against 2 x lower level oppponents (which is really difficult), I've also had training on handling a "bow" which is a 6 foot stick and far more usefull than a baseball bat hehe

ALWAYS GO FOR THE BODY! as far as weapons are concerned! and the flip-side defense to that is, get in close enough so the weapon is ineffective. (no swing) no flak, guy's!! but, common sense for anybody who scrap's!!
and you're right, those 2 on 1's suck!! 4 or 5 on 1 is worse, however! been at the bottom of a couple of those!

LOL yeah, and usually more than once!! but my ma used to tell me when i was a kid, "a lesson learned the hard way, is a lesson remembered!!

Lol, After being in several fights.. I mean A LOT.. I know that when you have a bat or a pipe, the only time you go for the head is when the person is out of it.

I never used a bat or anything to swing at people with in fights, I was always taught to use my fists and if that didn't work, to just slam. I'm 6'2' 240lbs. so I can easily use my size advantage against people.. But I'm sure you've seen the big bastards that come out of Hawaii and in that kinda situation you're forced to stay up, work the jab and just pray that you land a hard right or left and shatter their jaws.

But yes, without a defense you're worthless. Unless of course you're the kind of person that goes for the one hitta quitta then you're good. I can't even imagine how many fights I've seen go down where one guy jumps around like he's a kangaroo but can't defend himself and ends up getting carried away.

^^ That's because I was told that back then, getting mobbed was hard to come by. It'd always come down to just throwing one on one and if someone got involved then it'd turn into a full blown riot.

all true, man!! but what this really comes down to, is JUST knowing how to fight!! size mean's something, and at the same time it doesn't mean anything! and yes i am a FIRM believer in the first swing!! i didn't have a father, and i lived with my grandmother, and my two hard-ass cousins, (it's in the blood i guess, everybody in the family, likes a good scrap!!) and my cousin "buddy" who is the baddest person i have ever known, taught me when i was real young, a good recipe for losing, is NOT to take that first swing!! and, ya know how you tell who REALLY want's to fight? the guy who takes the first swing! if i'm jawwin with some dude, and he get's close enough to reach me, or swing at me, i won't wait!! i don't like to wonder "if" you're gonna take a swing at me!! i'll just get it started, then there's no question. wether we're gonna fight! and my i've probably been in a million, (or real close to a million! lol) scrap's!! and yes, i have dropped MANY with that first swing!! love those!! if i catch ya with anything even "remotely" clean, it's all over!! light's out!! i can't help it, it's one of the few thing's i was ever really good at!!! lol (hey, i'm an honest guy, i know my limitation's!!) but make no mistake i've taken mine too! broken cheek bones, nose busted 4 times! i can crack my nose like my knuckles!! it groses out my kids!! all total over 50 stitches in my head! shattered knuckles! broken fingers! still can't find my left ring finger knuckle! lol it kinda just float's around in my hand! i could go on, and on! lol my mom, and my grandma used to get so pissed, because every family, or holiday picture, i ALWAYS had a black eye!! it was kinda the running joke in my family!!
