This is a fresh thread dedicated to giving a name to all the gangs that are visible in the movie (there was a simular thread, but all the picture links are dead and its not been active for three years).  We've a lot more new members since then so i'm hoping to get some fresh perspectives on these.

If Rockstar games can dish out identities to gangs with little research, then I don't see why we can't.

First one; i'm 99% positive that these are the Gerrards; an Irish gang from Staten island.
Agree or disagree?  Thoughts please.

GREAT GOING (NINTH DELEGATE) i was hoping somebody would post something like this again and yes i agree fully that they are the gerrards and if their not you was close i mean how many irish gangs could have been in New York City

I don't think u understand the thread, the pictures posted are the Eagles and it is a made up name that goes with the pic.

I would call them the "Newsies!"

Ok, let's see if we are on the same page: ND is trying to match the gang names from the original script to the gangs that attended the big meeting. The Gerrards is a "real" gang name from the script.

ND: I guess you're right. This gang seems to be the Irish one from Staten island.

Warlord: Like Godfather said, the name Eagles was made up by The Swan so, there are no others pics.

Next one: From Queens....
An Italian-american gang known as  The Knockdowns



Ive read in various online discussions over the years that these could be the Loco's, but I would associate that name more with a latino/spanish gang.  The one in the bottom right corner reminds me of "Meat" Tupperrello from Porky's.  Some of the gang members look to have the classic "roman" nose; hence my reasoning of them being of italian descent (apologies if that sounded a bit stereotypical).
I would say 80% that these are the Knockdowns.

What a really good topic idea. I also find myself agreeing with you on these choices. 

Anyway, found some gang named 'The Black Hands'.

Dud, The Black Hands is Perfect!!!

Godfather, about The "Newsies". I mean, could you give me any synonym? Or is it from "Newsy"? Just to Better "render" that name in Italian.

At last, ND, about the "Roman" nose. In the list there is "The Romans", even if I also think those guys (their faces) would be Perfect as "Saracens" (another Gang as we know).

Once Again, Very Interesting Topic Ninth Delegate... I Really like it!!! 

I had cosidered the possibility of them being the Romans, but my reason for dismissing that option is the clothes they wear.  It looks the the costume dept have put a bit more effort into what they look like compared to the mixture of assorted t-shirt gangs.  This leads me to believe that they may at one time been lined up for a role in the opening credits.  The knockdowns is the only gang whom filming was scrapped, that I could think of to fit these guys.

Sorry, the Newsie name was a joke.  Ninth Delegate was correct, I got it from musical of the same name:  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104990/

This shot is taken from the scene where Cleon tells the gang to go the other way, against the crowd.  This gang is on the top left corner.



This gang wear the same outfit as the satans mothers (yellow t-shirt and denim vest) and also have a devil logo.  Could this be another biker gang?  The Roadmasters or maybe the Nightriders? (the gang that Ajax hates)

You probably wont be able to tell from this picture, as the resolution isn't high enuff.  Pop in your dvd copy to find this frame and let me know if you have any idea what this says on the back of his vest.
