What a cheesy group response by the RIF.  Can't believe Cyrus did not come up w/ something better than that.

Actually, in 1980, this responce was slicker than snot and the Riffs were beyond intimidating - orange gis and all.  "Yeah right" was the hipper equivalent of "Show ya right".  You'll notice the Warriors themselves use the phrase as a means to convey: "I agree/concur" or "no doubt".

If you are going to pick on the retro flavor of the movie, you could do it all day from the dialog to the clothing to the hairdos - but the late 70s-80s vibe is what makes the movie so endearing to a lot of us.

So cut 'em some slack jack, aint no thang.  Show ya right.

In my country "Yeah, right!" they translated the line in "Da, ovdje!" (that's mine language) which means "Yes, here!"

That was OK to me, but "Yeah, right!" looks fine to me too. If I were on their place, I wouldn't remember any better line.

I thought 'yeah right' was just a Walter Hill thing; something he liked toying with considering the amount of people who say it in the film.

I can think of three straight off the top of my head: Ajax when they're coming out of the train station and meet the Furies. Swan says We'd better take off and Ajax replies Yeah Right. Vermin after the attack from the Lizzies. They are bandaging up Rembrandt's cut in an alley and they agree to get back and tell the others, Vermin says Yeah Right. The third isn't technically in the movie but is from a deleted scene from the Director's Cut edition. Swan and Mercy in the tunnels, can't remember the dialogue but Swan ends the scene with Yeah RIght.

This hunt is a good excuse to watch the film again.

Mmm, my memory was playing tricks on me. It wasn't Vermin in the alley saying it, it was Cochise at Union Sq station when Cowboy and Snow joined them. I also thought there was an extended scene between Swan and Mercy when they were walking between stations and he says yeah right, but it's not on my director's cut edition. There were additional scenes available online, including the day time scenes and maybe I saw it in one of them.

After watching the film again I get these yeah rights:

The Riffs in their headquarters.

A Rogue, at the candy store responding to Luther with Yeah right I'm worried.

Ajax as they come out of the train station and meet the Furies.

A Lizzie to Vermin when he says she's the winner.

At Union Square when Cowboy and Snow join up with Vermin, Rembrandt and Cochise.

As I said I was sure I saw an extended version of the Swan/Mercy in the tunnel scene where Swan said it, and I don't Mercy include saying Yeah that's right Warriors, as they move off down the Orphan's territory.

Walter HIll might not have used it as much as I thought he did but he was chucking it about.

That's a little weird. So many "Yeah, right" lines in the movie, but why? Maybe it was just normal, nothing special. I don't think that Walter Hill wanted to gave us some message or something with that...

Couple more. Vermin actually says it at the Lizzies place just after Cochise says they should visit that part of town more often. And of course the Riffs say it at the end on the beach.

Unless my maths is kidding me I get seven occurrences throughout the film. Anyone else get any I missed?
