There is a crew at the conclave who are all Latino I think. One guy is
shirtless or is wearing a wife-beater and he has like a pork-pie hat on.
He looks like a straight cholo. Anyone know this gang's name?

The Hurricanes are from Spanish Harlem. The only time we see them in the movie is at the big meeting.

Ya, thanks. 'Fedora' is the name I could'nt remember. As for the details and
dress styles of Chicano gang culture, I am not gonna debate that, cuz I am
not an expert. Although it seems to me these may have been in style in the
70's and earlier, and not so much now?

I always thought from watching the scene that they were Italian.

i see old chulos wearing them, and in '79 they musta been young chulos, so i would guess that part of being a chulo is keepin' it real, they musta carried the style on

This is gonna be my last post for today, cuz I think I am pushing the alloted
amount. If they hail from Spanish Harlem, I don't think they are Italian. In all
likelyhood for the time period, if I had to make an exact guess, I would say
they were Puerto Rican, or something very simular.

Just to clarify, as it may come in handy for you one day-

A 'Cholo' is a gangster as in 'Vatos Locos'.

The word 'chUlo' on the other hand means a guy who is cute or good looking, or chula for
a hot lady. In some Latin cultures the word 'Chulo' means 'Pimp' as well.

Don't get the game and film twisted. There was never any reference in the film (or the script I think) that they are from Spanish Harlem. I believe that was written as a level for the game. The guy in the conclave looks nothing like a Latino.

I have never played the game before,
but even if they don't come from Spanish Harlem, saying that those guys do not
look Latino does not compute with me. Everything about them screams Puerto
Rico, Dominican Republic or Cuba or some such origin. Hence also the name
"Hurricanes" witch is a tropical storm known to be associated with those areas.

Not all Hispanic people are Latinos. IMO those guys are not Italian. I am
happy to agree to disagree tho.
