Hello all,its been awhile.Lets be honest-id say 75% of us here are hardcore members-been into this movie for 20-30 years, seen it hundreds of times and know all the lines-so its only natural that our interest will have highs and lows. The other day i got a chance to remember why we all love this movie.I was sitting around after my jiu jitsu class bs'ing with my instructor and happened to be wearing my Warriors t-shirt when the guy who owns the building where we train came down to join us,saw my shirt and exclaimed "holy s**t you remember The Warriors"! My reply was"best movie ever made".We began rehashing our memories and expieriences, the impact it had on 1979 society, getting yanked from the theaters etc.....With my interest peaked my instructor chimes in with "what are you guys talking about-ive never heard of this movie".Well you guys can imagine where it went from there and i told him at the top of his list of things to do today was go home right away and watch it and report back.Sorry to ramble but the whole incident put me in a good mood and i just wanted to share this nugget and maybe re-stoke somebody else's fire and do the same for them

i'd say that was a bit optimistic - most of the members are not 20 - 30 years old!  Image

I dont want to come off like an ass without the facts so all ill say is that anybody under 20 probably found out about the movie because a video game came out and there is a difference between them(besides age) and guys who actually saw the movie when it was released-not bad or good just a difference

That wasn't nearly as angry as i was expecting!

I was anticipating this Image, or at least this Image

It's for the best i guess, so we can avoid this Image

anyhoo, i think you may have taken offense to this Image

But fear not, as my "calculations" put you at 41, which makes me even Image by a few years!

So, let's recap:

a thread talking about old movie memories almost gets derailed by a fight, and is now derailed about fights (or, really, the training thereof)

...works for me!

You were pretty accurate 4nik8-but now that i know where you were coming from chalk it to some good natured ribbing

Now for the update:good news and bad news. The good news is that i got a sarcastic "Thanks" from my instructor for keeping him up late as once he started watching he was hooked, more good is that after 30 years this film is still relevant. The bad news is that as my instructor was talking about it there were 4 more guys who had never even heard of the film-im working on that.....more to follow
