For my weekly new topic, I found a new article about THE WARRIORS SOUNDTRACK being an Underrated Classic. It is an interesting article. Like Chevy Chase (yes that Chevy Chase)does back-up on IN HAVANA. Who knew? Link is below:

Cool article, man. Thanks for posting. I had no idea that Joe Walsh
and Barry De Vorzorn co-wrote "In the City". I always get pretty
pumped when I hear the theme from "The Warriors". It's good
work-out music.

Shame that more of the incidental music wasn't included. I always dug the eerie and atmospheric score when swan is being stalked by the punk on skates.

That's a good one. I like it to. It's amazing how music
can convey more than words ever can, at times.

It's great to actually have a topic people are posting on.

I liked how the PUNKS's fluid movements went with the music. Almost like the music was playing in the subway. The end theme is a perfect cap to the flick.

I was in my local Trader Joe's, getting some groceries this morning.
While I was shopping, "Nowhere to Run" started playing over the
speakers in the store (the exact same version from the movie). I
soon began watching for rival gang members around each isle as I
moved along :P I wondered tho, how many other people in the store
were thinking about The Warriors as well.

Could'nt make it without TJ's! Wholefoods (Whole Paycheck)
is nice too, but I can get twice as much at TJ's for the same
money.

I LOVE this site. A discussion about the soundtrack turns in to talk about supermarkets. Only here.

I wasn't saying it was a bad thing, just how fast the topic can change. The sarcasm is great tho.

Thanks for the post - I can picture a young Chevy Chase providing backup vocals for "In Havana". The soundtrack is solid man, and as the writer of this article implies, underrated.

I agree with Ninth Delegate about the inclusion of some of the interlude bits in the movie - that would be nice to have really round out the soundtrack.

The video game has some good musical bits as well that retain the eerie, atmospheric style that Barry DeVorzon laid out.

For the movie , I like how its one of the first soundtracks that features a rock n roll / synthezier sound.
