Hi guys,
I just wanted to say a quick introduction and tell all of you a little about myself. My name is Cre and I was introduced to The Warriors very recently. I heard about it by watching the VH1 special, I Love the 70's. I had never heard of this film before(don't rap me in the teeth for that) and was curious to know what it was about. I rented it from Netflix the other day and was totally blown away by it. 
I love the characters, the look of the film, the surreal, almost comic book atmosphere of it all, a beautifully intense romance. It was great!! 
I wanted to know more about this film and if anyone else had heard of it. I went to IMDb and various other sites dedicated to the movie and had no idea that it had this huge a fanbase. I haven't seen a follwing for a cult movie like this since The Rocky Horror Picture Show. 
So, let me ask all of you, what was it that fiercely attracted you to this film? Characters? Plot? Was it one thing or many things?

Hi and welcome to the forum, though I'm new as well.
The thing that attracted me to the movie was the characters and the gangs. I heard about the movie through the game, and after seeing the trailer for the film I KNEW I was going to like it. And I did ^_^

Welcome from another newbie (to this site - not a newbie to the movie).
My story of how I discovered the Warriors is in
this thread, which has pretty cool responses from a lot of people here.
As to what attracted me to the movie, initially it was probably the gangs and violence. After seeing it, what hooked me and kept me interested for so many years was the characters and the story, and as you also mentioned, the comic book atmosphere. I've always loved that the most climactic scene - when Cyrus gets shot - is at the beginning of the movie, and the rest of the story is the anti-climax of what happens afterward.

I think what drew me to the film,was It was filmed in many areas of New York,that I was familiar with,and I love the brotherhood,and the characters in the film,and of course,going home,and it never looked so good,when you see them finally come home to Coney!!!!
And trust me,this movie will have a fanbase bigger than Rocky Horror,
and Clockwork Orange..<--- "Inside Joke!!!" :badgrin: by the time The New DVD and VideoGame Drops, Trust me..

I liked the colors a lot, and the almost non-serious atmosphere. It was also very cool to me that all of the fights were bloodless. I'm certainly not afraid of blood, but it's a fresh change of pace, you know?

I'm new here also, although I've been lurking here, and wanted to sign up, but I never really got around to it.
Anyways, I believe I first saw the movie on TV a long time ago. The fighting, the gangs, the running, all of it comes together to create an awesome movie.
VH1 also reminded me of it, so I went out to buy it. Ha, reminds me, when I bought the DVD when they released it, I was confused about the beginning, because it was different from what I had originally seen! This site straightened things out, though.[/img]
