Watching the movie for the umpteenth time and just noticed that the belt buckle Ajax wears features a face.
On one of the Warriors fan pages the thinking is that this is a nod to Greek mythology - and also a nod to the film's producers in keeping in line with Sol Yurick's book where the CI Dominators are modeled after the Greek army led by Xenophon from Persia to the Black Sea after their leader Cyrus is killed in battle.
IF it is a Greek myth god - could it be a representation of Ares - god of war and courage?

Re: Ajax's Belt Buckle
It was whatever greek themed belt buckle they could find in stores at the time. It's likely to be Athena. This wasn't made specifically for the film.
