why did they send 9 delagates to the meeting. 1 that made it really easy to be spotted and 2 theres no use for all of them unless it was planed that they might need guys incase a fight broke out

But I think it was less about accomadating Cyrus, but about accomadating the gang leader, because imagine if you ran a street gang. You'd feel funny about having only 1 or 2 guys with you.

It also makes for better fight scenes if one so happens to be travelling back to his/her home turf and has every gang after them.

Also It's planned so that there are more people present at the park, making them feel stronger. And Cyrus' math seems a lot more practical. Imagine if there were only a few delegates.

It was logistics. Cyrus calculated the number of soliers that were attending. One or two more per gang, and we're too crowded. One or two less and we have a poor turnout. Cyrus was, among other things, a good showman.

I think nine was chosen because, if you recall, the Baseball Furies' delegate to the Riffs' Planning Commission on Intergang Activities (PCIA) insisted on nine, hoping to be able to start up a baseball tournament while the truce was still on. It has been debated whether or not it could be a big meeting if da Orphans wasn't there. But there's no question that the meeting would have suffered from the absence of the Furies, and Cyrus knew that.

Cyrus was also concerned with fire codes. It was bad enough with the cops showing up. He didn't want to have to deal with the fire marshall, too.

I have heard that 9 is an imcomplete number in comparison to 10.  This was Cyrus way of saying that the plan wasn't yet perfect until all gangs agreed and cooperate in truce and become "one gang".

Wow, I actually like Lions thought on the number.  I like the fact that Lions used symbolism to see what the hidden message of the meaning of nine.  Thats a very good point on Cyrus, seeing things incomplete, until they are all united.  So he not only spoke with words, but expressed them with metaphors, even withought gang members noticing.  Great point.

Would it not have been easier just to have ameeting with all the gang leaders? That way there would be less hassle, chance of a fight breaking out and chance of the cops showing up.

If Cyrus had invited only leaders of the gangs and 1 or 2 lieutenants with them,that would give a perfect chance to someone like Luther to get there with his whole gang and get rid of many rival gangs leaders.This way,with 9 people from each gang,that's not that simple to achieve.Yes,Luther did shot Cyrus,but if there was only 2-3 people from each gang and Luther with 100+ Rogues,body count would be much higher,at least that's my opinion.

bascially, i think simply they had 9 from each gang coz i know if i was going to a big meeting with all gangs from differ places i feel safer with 8 of my mates than 2 of them.
