Cleon in the trailer - editing leads to misconception?

I was watching the trailer again because it is a great trailer as far as little pieces of scenes not in the film. But one part of the trailer that many talk about is where Mercy talks to the Warriors and you see Cleon there. At first I thought the same of what most others would think, but now I am thinking what you see isn't really what is there.
It has led many to believe Cleon was on The Orphan's block with the rest of the guys. Logically, this is an impossibility due to all the events and scenes shot before The Warriors end up in front of The Orphans. Cleon isn't in the graveyard, not running from The ACs, not on the subway which catches fire, and not in any scenes directly after The Warriors meet The Orphans and Mercy. And it would be film magic to cleverly edit him out if he was.
Which leads me to believe that The Warriors you see over Mercy's vocal isn't what she is looking at. What it looks like, is Mercy giving her lines, and the picture switching to a different locale, but Mercy's vocal still is on the film when the picture switches shots.
Plus - if you look at the backround behind The Warriors when Mercy is talking - they are definitely not in the same place/block they are when they encounter The Orphans. It looks like they are near the conclave.
So it seems the trailer combines Mercy's vocals with a shot of The Warriors at the site of the conclave, and that's why Cleon is in the picture.
Something along the same lines happened in the first Spiderman trailer. Remember Peter Parker at the bedside of Aunt May in the hospital? She says "You're not Superman" and Peter gives a surprised look. But it didn't happen quite that way in the actual movie, it was just the editing of the trailer.
Any opinions? Either way, in addition to the regular "extra scenes" it would be great to see the scenes that the trailer has not in the movie. I am trying to figure out at just what point at the Orphan's scene does Mercy actually call the Warriors the big dudes.
