I like the widescreen, the new packaging... but frankly the new opening is now sort of silly/cheesy
But I do love the movie...oh yes. 8)

I love the featurettes more than the movie on this disk----when I want the movie, I watch the original disk.

The original cut is better, but the featurettes are well done. I am not as down on the directors cut as some people... its something different.

Simply put, it sucks. I hated it. It was insulting and a disgrace. It's waaay too "in your face," like, "hey viewer, just in case you are too stupid to figure out this film runs like a comic book and in case you haven't heard about it's ancient origins from anyone yet despite the fact that you probably have and that's one reason you wanted to see it, we're gonna shove all of that down your sucker throat to make sure the whole thing isn't lost on you." Screw that. It SUCKED. I can't say it enough. It SUCKED.

The featurettes were pretty decent, and it was good to see the old cast be so into the film and get a kick out of talking about it. I liked that the costume designer mentioned KISS directly as an influence for the Furies. That Furie design with the stars and stripes was horrid. Plenty of great still shots.

But on a one to ten, I'd still just give the whole package a five, because the new cut of the movie SUCKED, and there were no deleted scenes. That is especially a killer.

It also sucks that kids who have heard of The Warriors are only going to have this version available. THat is a freaking crying SHAME and DISGRACE. The hell with Walter Hill for what he did to this magnificent picture.
Big Cyrus. He was gonna run the whole city...what crap that was.

Yep, Directors cut is for watching featurettes only, original dvd for watching the movie and Cleons cut for watching deleted scenes.

how about a JoePal's cut of all the cut-scenes of the Rockstar game (including Flashbacks) and replace the game's version of the film to the real film

now, that's a loooong movie!

There is one little thing that both DVD editions have that isn't a real big deal but I noticed it. OK In the opening shot of the wonderwheel, the purple spoke-like lights are now digital looking. On both my VHS copies, one german, the lights are much more "lightbulby" I don't mind the laser look or anything, I just notice it everytime.

It drives me nuts that the Director's Cut has better sound, color, and picture quality, but has those darn comic transtitions.

I love the new Director's Cut, much better wuality, and the comic book transitions weren't as bad as everyone thinks. It's funny how they claim to be Warriors fans yet they diss the Director's Cut to no end.

what the hell does that mean???
WHO claims to be warriors fans???
i'm guessin the reason for the dissin, is because of the fact that, every other special edition of every other movie, had twice the extras, of the warriors ultimate directors cut!

You beat me too it, SHM! :) Ajax, it is because we are such hardcore fans here that some of us feel a bit cheated by the SE. It is an OK edition but it could have been much more. Only a NON hardcore fan would just accept anything Warrior related thrown at them.

Show some respect Man.

Your joining date is all we need to say.

Amazing how you only appear when the games is just about to be released and the start claiming all sorts of rubbish

The Dir's Cut added nothing but a couple of crappy drawn cartoons and not what we had all asked for. The fact we care so much is enough proof.

mixed bag for me. Picture and sound are much improved. I do like some of the slow zooms they added, builds tension in certain shots. The beginning is rubbish. I can deal with the comic scenes, they are ok. The Furies one really blows the tension though. Altogether as a "remix" it's ok. But they should have put both versions on the set as they have now taken the original dvd off the market. Meaning that in the future, newcomers will ONLY be able to see the new version.

:) d
I'll show you how I play
