Did Swan have the Switchblade the entire time thus breaking "the truce" or did he have it stashed somewhwere at Coney Island?

Swan is apparently a knife expert. There is a scene, there are only photos of it, with Swan holding a big knife toward the ground. I wonder what happened?

According to the Original Script--he did have a bowie knife during the daylight scene, but because of truce, had to leave it home, so that was part of the reason for his "stone face" scowl, cause he couldn't bring his knife, and supposedly he seldom went anywhere without it. I love that picture with him playing stick the knife with the bowie--though because of handle weight, they are not the easiest thing to stick and get to stand up, which may be why they didn't use it in the film.??? at least I never could get mine to stick and stay anywhere except meat and some types of wood.

Yes-a switchblade is the knife you see him flick open in the pier scene before they face the Rogues. It works on spring action switch hence the name.
Now they are illegal, and mostly you find combs that use that mechanism.
Alot of hunting knives fold now, but they have to be released to open and released to close, no easy action anymore.
