Has anyone ever thought it was a little odd how Rembrandt shouts out, "hey I found Coney Island!" on the map? I mean, if you are in NYC you have at the very least a general idea where Coney Island is, The Bronx is, every borough. Now Coney island isn't a borough, but if you are in another part of NYC you can pretty much pick it out on a NYC map, subway or otherwise.

Now Rembrandt even being from Coney, you would think he has a basic idea where it is if he is not there at the time! Looking at the subway map, I would think he would be looking to see what trains are needed to get there, as opposed to having actually have to find CI as a place on the map, he seems overjoyed that he simply located Coney Island itself!

Even more surprisingly, the rest of The Warriors are like, "yeah!" instead of, "well, duh, you should know where we came from on the subway map!"

Now I'm not picking on Rembrandt, he's great I just always thought it was funny how he just shouted that line out. And hey, he was the one who knew something was up with The Lizzies when Vermin and Cochise were just thinking with their, well you know LOL.

Incidentally, when The Fox says "nobody can read these maps anyway," he wasn't kidding, that was the general consensus in the 70's on those style subway maps, and they didn't last long at all because people complained they were too hard to follow.

And a blooper you don't hear much of, if it was mentioned here forgive me, but in the graveyard after Swan tells Rembrandt to look out, and you see him looking out, as Swan is talking afterwards you see Rembrandt in the backround behind him climbing up the statue when he was already seen up there looking out..

I'm not so certain that's a blooper. Remember, Swan said to Cleon at the beginning "we ain't even been to the Bronx before." So if they ain't been outside their turf what are the chances any one of them has seen Coney on a NYC map from a distance? Might be a new thing. Not to mention a minor triumph.

But you see him looking at the map on the way to the Bronx so, he must have seen at which point they started?

As was mentioned, the maps were hard to follow, and I think Rembrandt was a newbie to the group. It is not surprising that the Warriors did not travel far from their turf, afterall they probably wear their "colors" all the time; and by going into another borough, this may provoke fights from the gang in that territory.

It appeared as if Rembrandt was making two attempts to follow the subway maps but was having trouble on both accounts -not to criticize him or anything.

There was just a euphoria because they thought they were home free. He was probably looking to see how far it was from where they were. Remember that Ajax says to, "find out how many stops to the Union Square."

Remember the words:

The reason Rembrandt was checking out the map was because they needed to connect to 3 or so trains. I also know that in the 70's NYC subway maps were really hard to look at. So he was just trying to found the different connection spots.
