Any ideas about that guy at the conclave in the front row wearing the Union Jack shirt? I think he's only in one shot and I didn't see any of his fellow gang members. Kind of a weird style choice for a black NYC street gang.

i have asked the same question many months back and no one knew even then but i,m working on it.

They had alot of extras being used in that scene so they most likely didn't give them all a cool looking gang uniform. The fact that he was in that shot was probably unintentional.

Even though this is true, I thought, based on the featurettes on the Collector's Edition DVD, that the costume department was given enough potential gang names to create uniforms for all the people at the conclave. So, assuming that's true (which it could not be) there must be a gang that is supposed to use that as a shirt somehow.

Maybe The Blackjacks ("jacks" as in "union jacks"), The Runaways (gang started by British expats who were "runaways" from Great Britain), or some Mod gang.

Maybe it's a gang with Jamaican roots or some other roundabout connection to the UK.

I always wanted to know who this guy was too. But i agree, i think he is just another extra.

Just to sound really nerdy, but it is the Union Flag. It is only called the Union Jack when it is flying on a ship. Another interesting fact same time tomorrow ...

and the st georges flag of england becomes the white ensign when aboard a ship;)
