I wish so bad...

Post by Adk...Warrior »

I am a huge fan of the movie and game and if any part of the warriors was true, the gangs, clothes, way of talking, fighting without guns was true I wish that I was born in this time, the late 50's so that i can grown up in the 70's  to take part in this, does anybody feel the same way because I know that today it isnt anything like this.

I have wished that, but not for rumbling reasons. More for the disco! I am sad to this day to have never been to a real, 70's or even early 80's disco. And just being born 10 years earlier (1969 vs 79) would have been great so I could have been a teenager in new wave times, instead of a little girl following her babysitters lessons on Poison and Motley Crue. Though if born earlier maybe i'd have time for all 3 phases? disco, new wave, and glam metal? oh the possibilities! And of course seeing my fave movies like the Warriors and Fast Times at Ridgemont High in theaters!

Grew up in the 50s and 60s and have many times thought that that was the era I liked the most.  The slower paced simplier times, Leave it to Beaver, Father knows best kind of stuff, the start of rock and roll, the whole hippy and acid rock thing, the muscle cars etc. Not so good now that I'm up there in age but I'm thankful and glad I got to see it. ;)

I was a kid in those days, but I did get to see it all firsthand, living in New York City. It was electric to say the least, the movie captured the gritty dark oldschool feel of New York City at night, and then some...just to relive those days again would be amazing..wish someone would make a real time machine and sell it in retail stores..heh..I'd head back to the late 70's/early 80's in a heartbeat..Peace.

Yeah, it would have been pretty neat. Ive always thought if i had the chance to go back to any time, it would be the Medieval times. Being a knight would be so awesome.

Now if you join a gang it's all guns. You could die so fast. If it was realy like it was in the movie it would have been cool to be in a gang like the furies or the warriors.

No Rumblin', But...

Post by Grits »

I grew up in the 70s and while I have no desire to have rumbled during ANY decade, I can tell you it was a GREAT time to grow up, a magical decade.

Still, I would have loved to have been born in 1960 instead of 1970 so I could have tasted a bit of the whole Beatles and Peace craze...
Cleon dying was a huge blow.  Swan was able to pick up the slack and lead a very tough gang home through hell.

I agree man, you can't fight anymore without worrying about gettin' shanked or smoked. I almost got japped last night as a matter of fact....

It sucks.

The fact that each gang wore the exact same thing was awsome for me! The Furies went all the way as well as the Hi-Hats. To me that's is the way a real gang should look like.

i was born in the 70s but i'd never wanna live in that period.i have my reasons and i'm sticking to them.however not all that came out of the 70s was bad.the cost of living was easier, you didnt have to impress a female like you do these days by having to wear the right tracksuit or brand name like addidas or nike.

now as for the gang thing i'd never want to join a gang unless i'd have to as a last resort.but i think to live a disco lifestyle like john travolta in his movies would have been quite interesting.

btw if anything i have said is wrong feel free to step in and correct me.by the time the 70s ended i was 3 years old.
