Does anyone know how succusful the movie was at the box office? Cause I noticed that usally cult movies are either blockbusters ar they tank the first time around. I've always wondered how much green stuff The Warriors made.

And in 1979 dollars, that ain't so bad!

I know in '77 when Star Wars came out, the average ticket price was $2.50.

That's why the true gross list is always the "adjusted for inflation" list. On that list, "Gone With The Wind" is te highest grossing film, and Star Wars, with all the 1977, 1978, 1983 and 1997 dollar totals (the years it was released in theaters), STILL comes in at #2! And "The Sound of Music" is #3! Just goes to show you what huge blockbusters these films really were. (BTW "Titanic," the highest grosser ever, is at #6.)

That's why I've never watched titanic and always choose not to whenever the opportunity arises.

A lot of modern films miss out as a lot of people wait for the DVD release.

I only go to the cinema once in a blue moon now as other people with Foil bags full of sweets and popcorn do my head in. :x

Last time i went my girlfriend was horrified when i lost it with a Chav and his girlfirend who decided ripping the velcro on there trainers was a good idea. They didn't do it again. Ha Ha  :x

It was a huge success in Croatia.I remember my older friends were telling me that they used to go to the cinema and watched it again and again for months, and the cinemas were always full.I saw it in the cinema in the 80's,they were still playing it now and then!
