Masai said the riffs were patrolling the area and looking for the warriors.  their turf in gramercy park which is around 21st street and park ave...BUT i find it odd that the riffs werent camped out at union square, which was a mere 6 blocks away (14th street and park ave.) also it doesnt make sense that the warriors werent spotted while walking to the Lizzie's place around Union square. that kind of pisses me off b/c it doesnt make sense

I think Masai did an awful lot of relying, initially, on other groups.  I don't think he pushed Riff patrols until it was obvious that the others weren't getting the job done.  Also, that first spotting of the Riffs on the beach was an intense moment.  You can only know one time that the Riffs are looking for the Rogues at that point.  But you're right, it would probably be a lot more difficult for the Warriors to go unseen by Riffs if they were on a full scale search.

well i remember during the scene with the snitch, the riff messenger (i guess?, the puerto rican sounding guy) said the riff's patrols had found nothing

and even if after the the riffs found out the rouges killed cyrus, would they really been able to round them all up that fast?

There were Riff patrols, I know.  I'm just saying Masai was pushing them hardest towards that point of the movie.....Round who up?  The Rogues?  or the Riffs?  I'm not sure what point you're making there.  Don't get me wrong, you seem to be well versed in the film.  Peace.
