LMAO. I rember those vendettas back in the day. They were used mostly by African Americans and many Latinos. Usually the typical kind were the black ones and army looking ones. I sort of like Cleon's. It looks like leopard or tiger fur.
When you watch the deleted scene when his girlfriend warns him, you can actually see his little mediocre afro, so my guess is that he looked cooler with the "upholstery fabric".

..Except they don't use fabric patterns. Many religons wear symbolic headwear. Muslim was misspelled as well.

He's right. I wore one when I got a part at the dinner theatre (By the way if none of you know Im a part of ym schools drama club) I played a arabian doctor called dr. Nasser who had to wear a bandanna. It was white and had a red fabric to tie around it. I usually wore it with my vest sometimes when we weren't in the mood to do costume runs.

naw little mogasin native american leaders (in the past) wore a proud mane of eagle feathers around there head. EAST indians and muslems (who cares how its spelt) wear rags and beehive shaped rags on there head. Cochise has feathers in his bandanna and that just might be because he likes the toughness to survive of native americans or because he is part native.

you do know Cochise is a famous Native American Name of a war Chief who fought against americans moving western. He was known for inspiring his men to fight like bears and yet move swiftly and quietly like Hunters

I dont know what it is exactly, but I think Cleon was designed with the head gear because, in the book, the leader of the Greek warriors is described as wearing a "gold helmet" it might not be, maybe Im just reading too much into nothing but perhaps thats where the designer got the idea for funky yellow-coloured head gear.
I think Cleon was the name of a Greek leader or something too wasnt it?
Whatever, mull on my thoughts if you wish.

Thats an excellent point HoneyLipsSoldier.  Its as if it is a symbol that says he is the leader.  Even when I watched the movie for the first time, Cleon seemed to stick out more.  I actually like the fact Walter Hill picked him as leader.  I mean he even looked more bigger than the rest of his soldiers, his tone of voice and actions expressed him as being a richeous warlord.  Than came the head wear that said this guy is special, and he is a great man of respect.  So just like the "Gold helmet", it marked him as a man of great ability.  Good point, but by the way Cleon is just a normal name, I don't think it was a Greek leader. If you go to wikipedia.com, I believe it explains the names.  Actually Cleon, is the only one in the movie without a nick name, because Cleon is a birth name.  Excellent point about the "Golden Helmet".

At first I thought it was military camouflage, but then when I looked closer it was some fancy design like on furnitre fabric or curtains.  I dunno what it is, but Cleon looks cool in it.
