I don't think this has ever been talked about before. It is said that The Riffs are the biggest gang in the city, but it never says just how big. what do you think their full numbers are?
and I always wondered how could the DJ talk about all this stuff and the cops not get wind of it ? was she with the riffs? did they have the cops in their back pocket?
the riffs,the DJ

Re: the riffs,the DJ
Actually, we argued about this before. I was on the side saying that they're not so much bigger than others full strength. I think the issue at that time was the numbers showing in the scene in Gramercy. At the time, I said they didn't look like more than 200 in that room. But there was the theory that they weren't all there. Old issue. But a good one.

I always assumed that the ones in the room were higher ranking. Im sure aswell that they wouldnt all be there at that time because Masai asks if their patrolls have made any progress. So im amsuing they have alot out looking for the warriors.emissary wrote: Actually, we argued about this before. I was on the side saying that they're not so much bigger than others full strength.  I think the issue at that time was the numbers showing in the scene in Gramercy. At the time, I said they didn't look like more than 200 in that room. But there was the theory that they weren't all there. Old issue. But a good one.Â

I always imaged the Riffs numbering in the 100s and all of then weren't pictured in the film.

Yeah, I agree with BullDog, the dudes in the front rows were all wearing different color robes which would seem to suggest high ranking. The soldiers in orange behind them could've been dudes they personally commanded or trusted the most :-k. What Scurvy Dog said about stretching into other borroughs makes since to because they couldn't have had as much influence as the movie suggests if they didn't.BullDog wrote:I always assumed that the ones in the room were higher ranking. But then again, if thtats true how could their patrols have missed the Warriors :-k? It would make more sense, then, that they were a large group in Gramercy, which the Warriors really didn't pass through did they?

wow, thats very interesting! i never thought of that before.. that would explain alot. but then again, its just a suggestion not a fact. Karma+Maybe the cops did get wind of it. Maybe Luther was an undercover cop (or maybe even a bounty hunter) who was supposed to take out Cyrus, because the cops got wind of his "vision", believed he could accomplish it, and wanted him dead - and told Luther to blame it on anyone unfortunate enough to see him do it.
