I don't care too much for Wikipedia but there is a decent synopsis of The Warriors there so check it out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Warriors Send your Warrior-ignorant, clueless friends there instead of explaining all about it. ;)

It says there is a gang in London called The Warriors Crew with the same names as in the movie and it still exists.

They mention Dave Chapelle's chanting "Breast milk, you made my DAY-E-YAY!!" similer to Luther's "come out to play".
I saw that skit 2 weeks ago and wonder if anyone noticed it, glad they did heh.
If you wanna watch it yourself: http://youtube.com/watch?v=r6bxD4UL6fY& ... lle%20band

Imagine how chuffed the English 'Ajax' was when he got that name!  :) "Bl@@dy 'ell, I'm Ajax!"

I Liked the wikipedia's breakdown of The Warriors WE know though... Everyone got a nice little papragraph, except Snow, who got:

Snow: He is a Warrior who is quiet and reserved but can still handle himself. He has an afro.

 Short and sweet to say the least...

bah rubbish

whoever wrote it based off the game
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Warriors wrote:Vermin: A cynical member of the gang. He and Cleon, originally Destroyers, were betrayed by their original Gang Leader and with only the other to rely on, fended off the Satan's Mothers before returning to quit the Destroyers. Surprisingly, though he is the co-founder of the Warriors, he has no desire to be the Warlord, instead deferring to Swan.

The definition in Wikipedia will definately confuse someone who hasn't seen the movie, explaining the origins of the Warriors based on the game will definatley spoil the movie for someone who reads this and then watches the movie.  True the game does provide a good story to the origins of the gang and characters, but the actors were not working from that when the movie was made and the game and movie are different interpretations of those characters.

Dave was making fun of rapper/producer Sean 'Puffy' Combs, who did that in the " Flava in ya ear " remix opening. The original line was " Bad Boy... Come out to plaaaa-eeeaaayyy... " Well... the original parody I should say.

I agree with you. Cleon made The Warriors and Vermin was his first member. If you notice when they take over L.C.'s hangout they seem to officially begin gang bangin and takin over stores. Because when you play Cleons flashback the DJ says: "alright boppers, its got to start somewhere. The end of something usually means the beginning of something new. This is how Cleon started The Warriors."
Cleon started The Warriors. Yes with Vermin but that doesnt technically make Vermin the only co-founder. when Swan and Cowboy join up Cleon says that they need to start gettin there funds, and buildin a rep. So wake up COney cause The Warriors are here to stay. Signaling that they are now officially gang bangin. Meaning that the original Warriors are:Cleon, Vermin, Swan and Cowboy. And Swan was chosen as War Chief because he is very smart. And as demonstrated by Vermin himself, Vermin falls for cheap tricks like that of the Lizzies. Even Rembrandt had more brains at that moment. So I think en.wikepedia should get there facts straight. ;)
