how long do you think the riffs have been around for. i say 5 years. well since there the biggest gang maybe longer.

I think it would have to be longer than 5 years to grow w/that many members that are so well organized and disciplined.

This is a good question. The Riffs could have been around since the 1950's having formed for the same reasons some of the early motorcycle gangs did. They could have formed in the 1960's amid the social turmoil. They could even have roots tracing back to some Five-Points/Draft Riot era gang of the mid-to-late 1800's a la "Gangs Of New York".

this is a really really good question. i say it took them 4 years or so.

i'm gonna say about 2 years. i mean, i don't think it would take them THAT long to create a gang but yeah, it is a huge gang.

as far as the riffs. im gonna say this has been a long running gang, there a big gang...they have alot of control. you dont just earn that in a couple of years, im gonna say this is a long running gang that generations of people have gone thru. a all black gang dating maybe 10 to 15 years

well they were an all black gang so I think they were formed because of their ethnicity and to protect eachother from harms way/racial discrimination(possibly the KKK? :doubt:). Maybe 5 to 10 years.

id say about 6 years

The riffs had been around for probably like around 20 years of something. Since they where the biggest gang i think they were around for a little while.. the veteran type kind of gang, do you feel me? For the other gangs at the conclave to have much respect for them, the riffs were probably  had to prove themselves as the years passed by, since they are the most powerful gang in nyc at the time.

It must have tooken them 10-15 years to get that many people.  I mean, they have thier own army.

I would say around...4 or 5 years. Warriors got togetter around 1978 and started to recruit. It toke maybe
1 year to get some more people.(Dont know if i got that right about the warriors. But hopefuly you get my point)

im gonna say about 10 years because not only would it take time to recruit people it would also take time to get there name know around the other gangs and to create the name and outfits of the gang.

On the other hand though it might have only took 2 years seeing as how fast the warriors got their reputation know.

I'm gonna take a stab at somewhere between 10 and 20 years. I get the impression that they formed in the 50's or 60's.
