I don't know why this site has Criag R. Baxley listed as the Punks leader. Konrad Sheehan played him, and he also played a Ducky Boy in The Wanderers. Check this link out:

man that is wierd, why does this website have Craig R. Baxley as the Punks Leader?

This should interest some people. It is about the REAL Ducky Boys, and how they really behaved.




DUCKIES: 1957 to 1964.
The Duckies got their name because the original guys hung out at the Duck pond in the Bronx Botanical Gardens and shot at the ducks with slingshots, therefore, they eventually called themselves "Duckies". A Retired member described the Duckies, a gang featured in the Movie "The Wanderer": "The Ducky Gang (not just boys) lol. Not embarrassed to say I was a member and yes, they were very real. The balcony on 204th and the 'tunnels', and the whole area surrounding Twin Lakes was our turf! Was a wild time growing up, some bad, some good, but many learning experiences came from those times. The Ducky was not predominantly irish or anything else, but yes, we were certainly a 'large' group. On any given weekend night, as you reached the 'balcony', you started the Ducky 'whistle'. This let anyone down in the park know you were coming. We also used the 'whistle' as an all clear after the cops had given up chasing us around and it was safe to come back out. We burned fires in the tunnels in the winter to stay warm, and we went swimming in the Bronx river when it was hot. On weekdays, there was always some 'ducky members' to be found playing hooky." "I was a member of that Ducky gang, did some streetsmart growing up with them. I've watched the movie The Wanderers each time it's been on, and still get a kick out of how the Ducky gang was supposed to be represented. lol" Another former gang member from the Garrisons had this to say about the Duckies: "If you were planning to visit the Botanical Gardens in the Bronx you needed to concern yourself with the "Duck(ie)s." Legend has it, if you are visiting the Bronx Botanical Gardens and blast out a 'Duckie Whistle', Duckies will show up to greet you till this day!

I have no clue...

Maybe because he was the stunt coordinator and he did alot of the stunts.

Seems pretty solid. I always thought that the current picture of the Punks leader (on THIS site) looked like a completely different bloke! Konrad Sheehan huh? I'll buy that.

I think I need to check out this 'Wanderers' movie that everyone's bangin' on about, too...

This really is something that needs to get checked out. This is not the only site thats maybe had it wrong all this time. Will be interested in the outcome.

I dunno if this is right or not,But if Konrad Sheehan says he played him than he must have.But wasn't Craig Baxley at a screening or something for the warriors?And this site was wrong about Brian Taylor and Roger Hill,so it could be wrong about the Punks leader(no offence guys )

Yeah, but on the UDC dvd of the Warriors, Craig Baxley is interviewed during the featurettes, yet he doesn't say anything about being the leader, which, if he was, he would have mentioned it.

So he got on the interview by foolling every person at the there by claiming he played the punks leader,He fooled walter hill,the crew,and the cast into thinking he played the punks leader,and they all belived him, not to mention all the times his name was used in the credits,the script and so on.Its not true man,Craig Baxley did play him, if he was interviewed than he's gotta be the punks leader.
