Sorry if this has been done before but watching the Warriors again the other night and watching the scene where Luther is in the candy shop "checking in" who is he talking to?
My theory is that he is talking to a mafia don who has paid him to waste syrus as they would be muscled out of the city when the gangs took over, who else would profit from his death.
Or was Luther just a maniac
Once again sorry if it's been done but i'm new and would like to hear your thoughts
Cheers 8)

sorry i disagree putting the mafia in just throws the whole film
if he was phoning anyone it would of been the rogues warlord/warchief
plus this has probably been done before
luther was just crazy
and "rouges" is spelt  rogues and syrus is spelt cyrus

Yep, this question has been asked before.  Many, many, many times.
But anyway, we'll never know who Luther was talking to.  Probably just a contact, someone in the Riff's network who knew what was going on.
Luther explains at the end why he shot Cyrus.  "No reason.  I just like doin' things like that."  That's all the reason Luther ever needs.
