You think luther was a cop cuz he shot cyrus?I believe liuther could have been an undercover cop that acted like a gangmember..I think it is pretty reasonable do u??

Could be.....no-one knows what he was, but that thought has crossed my mind, good point.

good point he may be a cop but its more likely hes some physco loser that "just like doing things like that"

Could luther have been a cop?...Nah.  I dont know about USA, but over here in the 70's, we had a minimum height requirement to get into the force.  Luther is a bit on the short side.  I also think he would be too young to get an important undercover mission as this.  If he was a cop, he would probably still be a cadet or a rookie and be asigned to an experienced partner.  Not that im an expert in the subject or anything.

A more probable explanation; if any type of law enforcement were involved (FBI?) they could have payed luther off to do their dirty work for them.

If cyrus's plan had worked, it would have caused serious problems for the law, so it would have been best to nip it in the bud as soon as possible.  Having luther as a patsy would make it seem like it was just another gang vs gang homicide.  It may explain why there were so many cops at the ready.

I like topics like this, that make you think about the question.  All points of view are valid.

Thats an interesting question.  Well who knows, if Luther was a cop, than he sure is one corrupt cop.  Its possible that if he ever was a police officer he simply went crazy.  Maybe while undercover in the gang world is mind just went.  He got consumed by the influence of gang activity, and possibly forgot the man that he used to be.  Or maybe its possible that he came to the conclusion that, "the difference between the police, and criminals is that they are the same, because when you look down the barrel of their guns, there is no comparison."  So his mind just went crazy making him become one of them, and not caring about what he does, making him the entity of pure evil.  Thats one aspect of looking at this.

By the way Ninth Delegate, it was actually the same here in the U.S., cops did have to be a certain weight and size, I guess you can say that in the 70's the training of cops were more stricter, and now a days they are more layed back, you should see how out of shape some are.  Any way, this is an interesting topic, there are unlimited answers to this issue.

Well if he was an undercover cop then he was sure as hell good at role playing. The guys crazy! And if he was a cop he put on a great 'crazy guy' act.

my mom told me that back in the day gangs wouldn't shoot each other..they would fight...and cops shoot gangsters so luther could have been a cop.

Are you kidding me? Of course gang members used guns back then, maybe not as much but they still did. Gangs are not perfect, not even back then.

I don't think Luther was a cop, but he could have been used by them to get to Cyrus. Maybe the cops nailed Luther for something, but rather than lock him up, cut a deal with him and used him to take out the far more dangerous Cyrus. It might also explain how the cops just happened to be there waiting, Luther gave them the details, sold Cyrus and potentially everyone else out to save himself.

you know this never crossed my mind i always thought he was a guy who was supposed to be picked up by the guys in the white coats to an insane assylum but hey thats an even better theory.
I mean when he was on the phone he could of been talking to a cop.
