tricender, you know something we don't??
I actualy sent the following to my source @ locoape this morning:
Hi (name removed),
Its July and all the fans are asking. When can we see “Under our Locoape brand; we’ve also been in possession of and are developing toys and collectibles in celebration of the 30th anniversary and beyond. An 18” premium format, LOW number limited edition statue line is currently prototyped and we are set to release 1-2 statues per quarter beginning in July.” Any ifo for the fans would be greatly appreciated. Maybe a SDCC exclusive look???
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best, (name removed
His response:
You’re timing is impeccable. You should be receiving an email within the next day or so… THANKS!
My response was:
Thanks! I will “spread the word” as we WARRIORS fans like to say. I think I might have caught a “glimpse” of the 18” FURY (don’t know what it was). If it is WOW!!! I NEED IT!! Please get back to me and good luck @ SDCC (if you are attending).
His response:
22.5”…. More to come!
All I have to say is WOW!!! I can't wait to see the rest they have in store if the costumes look descent and the collectibles look like this!!!!
But, I was also on SIDESHOW COLLECTABLES's Product Announcements (
http://www.sideshowtoy.com/index.php?pa ... paign=cc09) and they have a RED and a YELLOW faced FURY but no preview) can we be get getting more choices as far as collectibles or is the SIDESHOW statue the one in the pic?
Any more info and I will let my fellow boppers know.

The photo is from San Diego Comic Con. which is happening this weekend.
I do not know if this is Locoape's or if it is being made by Pop Culture Shock collectibles, which is run by Jerry Macaluso. Rumor is that Jerry sculpted it, so it is very possible it was sculpted by Jerry for them. It looks as though it is being displayed with Pop Culture Shock's other stuff at SDCC. I am sure answers will be revealed very soon.
Sideshow Collectibles will be selling it through their site, you can see them listed in their SDCC list, but no details yet. Sideshow are not producing it. They work as a distributor as well, selling figures from Hot Toys, Medicom, Mezco, Pop Culture Shock, etc.

You sure he didn't say up for pre-order in the next few weeks? Because if it still needs some tweaking and hasn't even went into production yet, it will be a lot more than a few weeks before actual release.

I hear this is the LOCOAPE statues. It is sculpted by Jerry Macaluso of Pop Culture Shock collectibles. It will carry both the LOCOAPE logo and POP CULTURE SHOCK logo as it is a partnership. Can't wait for more pics and the pre-order.

That price is no surprise at all. That is how much premium 18" mixed media statues go for. They are high end collectibles.
I will buy the regular version, but will not pay that much for the exclusive red version, when it is just simply a repaint.

I think the 9 inch mezco figure captured a better likeness of the actor.  The pose is a bit too much like a sports figure. Would have prefered him hitting the palm of his hand with his bat like the first time we see him in the movie.  Overall, its a nice peice, but I think I speak for a lot of us when I say its out of my price range.

I expected a price close to this, but thought maybe it would be a little lower with buying down. I will probably save my pennies and buy this. I have been looking at it all day.
