I don't know exactly where they got the idea, but I do have a theory. If you notice at the beginning, when Cleon is fighting Luther, he executes a swift elbow to Luther's chin. This is a very fluid and precise motion. The creators of the action figures probably noticed this and decided that he had a martial arts background and should therefore have nunchucks.

Good call! I'm not entirely sure why the figures have to have weapons since the movie was about not having them. Snow should have had a boom box!!

At the ending beach scene when the Riffs come down and are standing by the Warriors, if you look to Masai's left (your right) there is a Riff with nunchaku. Also the "Crunk Muzik" video had Warriors references and some dude had nunchuks, so it kinda made sense to me.

it's be kinda hard making a cartoony-ish (like the other figures are) Mercy. Those already big lips would be half the figure...
I'm just concerned as to how they'll pull the afros off.

swan's pipe seem's cool but maybe a smaller one and perhaps some of the weapons they find when they are gonna fight the rouges at the end
