true, however, he generally gets those reserves met - he recently sold one for $410!

but why? all he's doing is applying black dye on the vests to make them look dirty.

Having never seen one in person, I can only presume that it's due to:

* the color, which captures that more maroon, less brown feel
* the leather quality, which seems much smoother, less grainy, and has more of that drape
* and, arguably, most importantly, the shape, which is less classically vest-like, and closer to "sleeveless"

When these vests were first on sale, they were $250 new.  Charlloots custom dyed the vests afterwards to give that maroon video game look and added points to the piping on the pockets.  I don't know if he still does this himself or if he has got his supplier (shah meeran) to do alterations before they are shipped to him.  Ive seen one of his vests go for over $700 in recent months.  Personally, I dont think its worth anywhere near that ammount.  The shape of the vests havn't changed.  They're exactly the same as the ones triscender  and the rest of us have.

Admittedly, having never seen one in person, I can only go by the pictures, but I believe what I mean by less vest-like is more evident in this pic, especially in the top left:

that's simply because he has a size SMALL photographed there.

the larger the size the looser they begin to look on that manequin.

The vests also look a tighter fit when they are displayed buttoned up.  It is possible to make the armholes tighter by reducing the width of the vest sides.  If you lay it flat on the floor, you'll notice its got a slight v shaped angle to it.  You can level it off so its 90 degrees or you can cut away more off the sides.  I only recommend doing this if you are a pro seamstress or know someone that is.  The only problems this can lead to though, is trying to get the piping to match and being careful it doesnt rip if its too tight when buttoned up fox style.

Charlloots (ebay id = charliesangel68) has a new image, which, while an interesting angle, does reveal that the shape is as triscender and Ninth Delegate called it

It also looks like David Harris will be a recurring pitchman

Yet another vest on ebay (and claiming to be the only one up for sale on there. yeah right).
This one has had slight modifications to the side.  Don't know if he kept the buttons to sew back on.  These vests look a lot better without the piping filled.  This is a third generation after A1 got the cease and decist.  The pockets have been updated.
