This one looks like the SWAN worn one that was on HOLLYWOOD AUCTIONS a little while back. It looks nothing like the one GOLDEN CLOSET has. Yes, the patches were taken off the one GOLDEN CLOSET has, but the vests look thinner in this auction and the SWAN one.

There's been a cochise vest making an appearance on various auction sites for the past 5 years. This is probably the same one.

It looks like they took the SWAN VEST pic from that auction and just put BLACK around it. I'd like to see actual pictures of it.

And that sold for 10 GRAND. I would think SWAN's would be a better find then COCHISE (No offense).

what i dont understand is, who tries to sell a $15,000 item, and not provide detailed pics? this should have at least a dozen pics to go with it, including pics of the vest and c.o.a. in any event, seems fishy to me.

Better view on this site and a cheaper price. I think these may be reproduction patches from the original designs. Golden closet claim them to be genuine, but there's some differences compared to the ones on the Swan vest.
"Cochese" is what's written in marker pen on the inside of the vest.

Notice the difference in black border around the warbird.
Also the top rockers are different. One has the "R" and the "S" touching and the other has them spaced apart.

I emailed the seller about some proper pics this is what i got back.

Hi Turnbull gbr

Here are some pics of the vest up close. As you can see the name "Cochise" is hand writen on the makers label inside the vest in black ink. You can also see that it is "aged" and some areas such as under arm areas are faded somewhat from the passing of time and from being warn in the movie over 30 years ago.
As described in the listing, this is only one of two Warriors Vests that survived over the years and the only one to have original screen used patches on the back according to http://www.warriorsmovie.co.uk. as well as according to the dealer who is selling the other warriors vest for $12000us but they admit that the other vest is the one with (reproduction) patches on the back and that mine (The Cochese vest) is the one with the original screen used patches, and they should know since they were the ones to consign this vest to "profiles in history" back in 2006 where it sold for $15000.
This really is all the information i can give you at this point except to say that if you bid on it and win, I can reveal to you or the winning bidder all the documentation that supports what i just said as well as give you the coa which protects you from any type of fraud.
I cannot and do not show pictures of any coa's to anyone but the winning bidder of the props and costumes i sell on ebay due to counterfeiting but rest assured that i have all the proof and documentation to support my claim and the winning bidder will receive it all.
Thanks for your interest and good luck.
Seller

Funny how he says it's this site that say the patches are original, i can't find where this vest is discussed on here.

I actually giggled when I read about this site. We have discussed this vest before in this thread:

According to http://www.thegoldencloset.com/...

a "Warriors vest [that] was worn by the character Cochise (portrayed by actor David Harris) ...sold at a Profiles In History auction for $15,000.00 in 2006"

Btw: the Cochise vest that is privetly owned in this link http://fret12.com/mt_pplarge_vest.html
belongs to Mark Tremonti, the guitarist from Creed. (doubt he is selling). Its not the cochise vest from golden closet as that one had poor reproduction patches. This cochise vest patch set looks identical to the one on the swan auction vest.[/b]

This is the vest that looks like the SWAN one being discussed in the thread. Can you confirm 9th? The SWAN vest sold for 10 GRAND plus fees.

Earlier we had this thread:

No idea, mate. I would love to have something like that in my collection, but I know that's impossible (unless someone with a good heart who has one in his collection decide to donate it to me, lol). The one that belonged to David Harris went for $15,000 3-4 years ago, which means there are Warriors fans who are willing (and able) to pay mega bucks for something like that. I wish I was one of them!

So is the one that sold for 15 Grand and he is trying to re-coup his money?

No where else is this vest or his patches discussed. Weird how he sent no pics of the patches.
I guess we are the authority on all WARRIORS merchandise. We would start charging to appraise.

The Swan vest and the Tremonti owned cochise vest are the ones that look near identical to each other.
Looking on the close up of the swan warbird patch, the horizontal rows of stitching on the skull are clearly visible.
The patch set on this recent "cochese" vest looks a closer match to the rembrandt repro patches that were copied from the original drawings that came with it. They also don't match the production crew jacket which have the patch set sewn on.

My 2 cents: The vest is genuine but the patches are from a later time period. Someone has done the same as golden closet and had them professionally made.

Just recieved this.

Hi Turnbull gbr.
Here are some cool pics of the back of the vest.
I understand your apprehension about the patches not being authentic to the production. I understand because i had the same doughts when i was considering buying it, but after doing some "investigating" of my own i found all the evidence i needed to make my decision to buy it.
Here is a link to the dealers' site who was the one to buy this and the other vest with reproduction patches from the studio costume house that had them in storage in their facility since the production wraped, http://www.thegoldencloset.com/blog/?ta ... riors-vest .
I've spoken to the dealer/owner of this site in the past and have full confidence in what she says and posts on her web site. She's been in the industry for years and has incredible connections with all the players in hollywood.

This is the main reason that i am convinced that i have the only screen used vest with screen used patches of the only two known Warriors vests in circulation.

I invited you to compare the pics i'm sending you with the sceens from the movie to try to screen "match" the vest but i can tell you that i have tried myself to do that and was not able to clearly see this characters back or any other well enough to say it is or is not the same one.

Based on what you will read on the link i sent you and the owners reputation in the collecting community, it is accepted buy the "original prop and wardrobe" community that this is the only vest left with original screen used patches.
That is really what is most important because you cant go back in time to trace the patch of the vest and at some point faith in those who have the connections and experience is required on all these types of pieces from the past.

As i already mentioned, it comes with the coa from the auction house that certifies its provenence.
It's a great and rare iconic piece from a classic film and the most desireable "prop" one can own from "The Warriors", and as with almost all props from all films and television it will most definately increase in value as the hobbie of collecting "original props and costumes" grows.

Thanks for your interest.
