For the life of me I sit here at the computer in total frustration over the most idiotic thing to do....remake a cult classic!!!!!!!!!
I guess we havent gone far enough with the corporate "Pop" movies that have been coming out. And remakes!! Remakes??? Hollywood has nothing else but to do remakes of EVERYTHING.
You want to laugh. One of the Producers emails there little blurb on this disscusion board as if he really cares about staying true to the Warriors fans with this new movie coming out. He could care less! Do you think he really goes about this re-make thinking this statement he said?
Its all about "Pop-ing" the movie. They'll fill this remake with a bunch of 'Pop" icon idiots and sandwich them all in the movie to make the quick buck, while, in return; they ruin the original in the process.
Karate!!! Karate!!! C'monnnn You've got to be kidding me! This is what the movie is about? This day in age teenagers are on Cell phones and computers and crime rates here are down astronomically folks....this movie DOESN'T WORK IN TODAYS SOCIETY. Someone please inform these morons before they ruin a classic. Please.
I just can't believe their really going to re-make this classic and just ruin it with an idiotic soundtrack (MTV will have a part in this damnnation). Everything the original stood for will be uprooted.
Theres a reason why the original had no-name actors and was "cultish"!!!! Because its not supposed to be an inflated blow-em up karate, rap induced crap fest folks.
Whatever. I say re-release the damn original like they should have on the 20th anniversary in 1999.

You do have some very valid points. I to don't want the remake to be a karate, rap fest. It will ruin the movie. But you never know the movie may still be good. It gives us Warriors fans something to look forward to. It would be really good if they did re-release the film, it would probably be better than the remake.

I hear ya, I hated it when they did the same thing to Slap Shot and Rollerball. Unfortunately, Logan's Run might be next on the list.

Logan's run was in my Top 10 films when we listed them on the forum a few months ago. I love that film.

Also can't believe they are remaking Assault on precint 13!

My friend I know MTV productions and Tony Scott = crap. I been around and I've seen a lot of good movies and I have many more to see in this world. Just let it flow off your tongue when you say it...MTVVVVVVV and Tonyyyyyy Scottttttt.

The point is in the beginning of the argument, which is; there is no need to make re-makes. Simple. How awesome would it be for the movie to be re-released in theaters (The Original)!!!! That would be sooo coolll. Which should have been done at the 20th anniversary OR...relase the DVD with all extra goodies in 1999.

I bought the DVD now and it has the original trailer, thats it. I understand that back then UNLESS someone was running around with an 8MM filming actors and happenings on set, you weren't gonna get a lot of extra cool stuff; who would have thought that back then. Directors commentary would be nice OR The actors NOW talk about the movie and different scenes.

I know enough as a 33 year old seeing what I've seen in the "Dumbed Down" Pop culture MTV Action directed film world to know this is doomed from the get go...UNLESS...UNLESS, they stick to the original, get no-name actors ONLY, and keep the "Pop" out of the film including the damn soundtrack. Those 3 would be nice, something tells me I shouldn't keep my hopes up.
