It's better than Tony Scott's ideas. Replacing all the movies gangs with real life LA gangs. I have a horrible feeling that the remake will end up looking like a 50 Cent fantasy, with no name Hollywood pretty boys and obscure rappers playing the Warriors or whatever they're gonna end up calling the main gang.

Anyway, if they suddenly came to their senses and decided to use updated versions of the gangs we know and love, I'm gonna throw in a couple of ideas.

Punks- The Class of 1984 idea looks too Mad Max for The Warriors. I think they should look like actual punks, with some skater style thrown in to update them. The leader could ride a skateboard instead of roller skates, and maybe pick it up and hit people with it in fights.

Boppers- The purple pimp look with the wide brimmed hats is timeless, it has to stay. Maybe add a bit more bling to them, and give a couple of them long fur trimmed coats, and maybe those pimp canes and gold knuckle dusters as weapons.

Electric Eliminators- Keep the shiny yellow for their jackets, but make the jackers the leather kind, kind of Nascar drivers look, and have the gangs logo emblazoned on it, like where the drivers would have sponsors logos.
