Ok lets look at one thing.
yes lots of those who saw the movie wanted to join a gang.
Many citys got major Gang wars.
Besides that the real gangs rioted saying that isn't what real gangs would do.
My dad was there and he like 13 years old. he ran with a teen gang that lasted for like 3 months. Two of the members died three are crippled and the rest just fought with others.
It probably wouldn't happen but it could!

Wen the movie came out lots of gangs became more violent and there was a protest against the movie because it promoted gang violence. As for the remake I doubt it will start gangs up like it did in the past. People are devoted to things like they used to be.

Hmmmmm.........Do I think the remake will
cause gang violence....no.
Do I think the remake will be
blamed for gang violence.....of course.
Just ask Tipper Gore. Video games, movies, and music are the cause of all of the world's woes
But seriously, as others have said, we live in a different time and age then when the original came out.
When 6 year old girls gan get killed in a drive by, when families can get gunned down for driving in
the wrong color car, or when you can get gunned down in the street for wearing the wrong color baseball cap, I hardly think anything shown in a movie could push the envelope any further.

In a book i'm reading at the moment called Coney Island Lost and Found it states the The Homicides (The gang that got upsaet when The Warriors was spayed on Stauch's Bath House) went on a rampage while watching the film in Coney.
I would be surprised if the new movie did cause any trouble as it can't be any more graphic then any other film released.

The whole subject on Gang Violence.. it was during the 70's but you cannot say that it does not still exist.. As long as people are upset with society, you will see a uprising with Gangs..
