Let me first say that I think its stupid that this film is even going to be called "The Warriors" since from the information we have so far its really not going to be an updated version of the original, just a film with a simular idea.

But is that so bad? I've only just come here but for years on the IMDB board I've seen "what films are like this one?" topics, and I myself have often wished there were more films like it, even though I don't see how it could ever be surpassed. So, in a way, I am really looking forward to seeing a modern film that will (hopefully) share many basic plot simularities with a film I have loved since I was around 10, even if I do believe that the title is only being used to draw the fanbase of a classic movie and a now popular game.

Of course its very likely that the film will be terrible in its own right, but as of right now I am sort of looking forward to it.

i guess you have some points there but this movie will definitely not be worth the money nor a matinee, maybe a sneak in.......just maybe

i won't watch iti n the theatres but i will download it when it pops up on the net the next day.

I know its not really a good idea to make a re-make of a classic cult film!
But Im sort of looking forward to it too, im hoping that it will be more similer to the original that not, keeping the main story because we may be pleasantly suprised.
They could make more out of some of the themes and different scenes. But I know we may be dissapointed. But it is worth giving it a go.

One thing we might get out of this little remake, is meeting some strange cameos. It would be so cool to see a few old Warriors together again for a few moments.

Trust me I don't think,Any of the original Members would not want to be in this movie,because it would take away from the original,It's a trainwreck waiting to happen..Besides in the sense of legacy,If I were one of them,I would stick to original,and not some campy remake which will take away from the original 8)

I am another who probably will NOT see this in a theater or anywhere I have to make an effort for it, but sooner or later I will view it, and of course I will read the reviews here that everyone will post up that does see it early.

The original poster does have one point---I believe this is a movie that is going to be simply a new movie with the same name, and with that thought, there is a possibility if we view it like that---it may well stand alone on it's own merit, and be just another new movie.

From everything I have read--I am going to view it as a totally new film, and not bother comparing it at all. If I like it with no preconceived notions, good enough----IF I don't like it as a stand alone---there isn't any reason to worry about comparisons cause it would have never made the cut anyway in my book.

i think that the new film is goin to be intresting. I know that the new film is going to be nothing like the old one but it will be good because there is better qaulity of filming now and i bet there is a good story line for it with loys of gang fights. I hope that they keep the same charecters.

Look at who's directing it "Tony Scott" Now no special effect studio in this world cannot create the magic,the movie had when it was film 1978
As for Story Line,Brother it's being filmed in LA!!!! LA
Next your going to tell me that "Domino" was a Cinematic Masterpiece,
and it should be regarded as a classic..

Brother your homework for tonight is to Watch The Warriors movie again,and again,until you can quote it,than put on the videogame,and emerse yourself in The Warriors world,until you finally see thing for what they truly are
