what do you consider reasonable casting? an all rap cast, or an all black cast? if they use rap stars, it's gonna be all black, because that's all that's popular now. the warriors was kool, because none of that black-white stuff, came into play. (this mean's you 2 mr vess!) the warriors was a "mixed gang". which, i always though was about the coolest thing in the world!! (there were no "mixed gang's" in my neighborhood, when i was a kid.)
plus the fact that all these punk-ass, fake-ass, "wish i was actually bad" "where's my uzi, this fool just disrespected me, i gotta put a slug in em, after i treat a few ho's, (women) like garbage" rappers, make myself, and most of us here, SICK!! and we cringe, when ever we hear a warriors reference, from these fool's!!
i think we all have a basic idea who you are, and where you're comin from, (the signature, and your forum name, say it all!) and i do welcome your opinion, as you should others! (black, white, or otherwise!) you seem pretty intelligent!! however, not everybody want's an all rapper cast! (not that it will matter, it'll happen anyway.) and every post by you, has been defending rappers, you haven't said a thing about the original movie, all you've talked about is the remake. in case you didn't notice, most of us DON'T WANT a remake! because it's gonna be a 2 hr rap video! if you're lookin for "rapper" compassion, or acceptance, or understanding, or lobbying for rappers right's, LOL man are you in the wrong place!!!

p.s real classy forum name!! i'm sure our female member's love it!!

most of you know im a hiphoper....i run a entertainment company that is all rap/hiphop but to me this movie should not be turned into a rap thing. this movie wasnt abou tbaggy pants and bandanas....all the gangs had there own kinda thing....all the guys were like from anuther world....i mean i wouldent care if there was 1 gang of homie rap thugs....but i dont want the warriors like that, i really dont want any like it...but i could deal.....im sure alot of those rappers like that movie as much as us....but they also like scarface and i heard cuban link ( a rapper with a huge scar on his face from cuba) was gonna play in the possible scarface 2.....its a shame.....some things just do not need to be needled with and rappers place into, no matter how big they might be at the time. movies like the warriors, the godfather,scarface ect stand teh test of time beacuse of the film and not the pop cast they COULD have at the time like having 50 cent play in the movie or whoever

ya know, i like rap "music" it's most of the lyrics i can do without. ya know, the "glorified" ghetto life!
when i was growing up, rap used to be about rhymes, not how offensive you could be!

SHM you pretty much said it. great thing about the actors in this movie is that none of them ever really made it (okay so maybe we're having fun at their expense) so their characters are still their characters. It's not like Tom Cruise, or Tom Hanks where all you see is the actor, and not the character. How many reviews of the Warriors actually use the actors' names more than once or twice in a review? Close to none.

I just don't want to have Puff Daddy -- I mean "P. Diddy" --no wait I mean "Diddy" -- to be Cyrus. You know if they have famous rap stars in the movie they'll slip them in in places like the Turnbull bus, which in a way would be worse.

I see your point but i don't think you understood mine, i was just pointing out that it wouldn't be bad if certain music entertainers(not just rappers) had small roles in the remake, mainly because alot of them mention the original movie in a positive way whenever they can. I also dont recall saying that an all black cast or an all rap cast would be reasonable!!! Like you I love the fact that the WARRIORS gang was made of black,white,latin, etc...I also like the fact that they dont mention color in the movie at all (except the riffs being an all black gang). No matter what im almost positive that a few rappers will be in it. As long as they dont have them playing major roles(unless they fit the character) i dont see a problem. i got you, man!!! ok, i see your point!!! a few rappers, in the movie, even major role's, (if they fit ythe part!) is not the issue, or worry, so much as mtv turning it into, well, MTV!!! ya know what i mean??
a lot of us are just afraid, that it will end up being a newer version, of say, "menace to society" as opposed to the "warriors"! which is fine if you're remaking "menace to society"!! but ya know how it is, media will take anything that's even remotely popular at the time, and saturate the public with it, in every way shape and form! so i guess, myself, and a lot of others here, just figure, it will be pretty much a hip-hop movie, because that's the most popular genre, right now.
and you're right, (damn it!!) LOL there are a few rappers, that would be perfect, for role's in this remake! as long as it doesn't turn into the "hip-hop" awards, i'm kool!!!
