The Wedding Crashers

Post by Marlboroprojects »

Just caught this flick last night, and I must say, it is the funniest movie I've seen in years! I don't know about the rest of you, but as much as I loved Star Wars, War Of The Worlds, Batman Begins, and Fantastic Four, it was refreshing to get away from the whole sci-fi, action genre for a good ol' comedy. My brain was starting to get CGI overload.

Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are perfect as a team. Vince's comedy is hysterically over the top and Owen downplays his to perfection. What can I say about Christopher Walken??? Just his facial expressions alone are hysterical. And Will Farell puts on a funny cameo as the wedding crasher "guru" - the one who taught the guys everything they know.

I highly reccomend this movie to anyone who likes comedies or looking for a change of pace from the action flicks that have come out so far this summer. :)

I posted a review on http://theurbanline.com and I've got more to come. I agree it is one of the best comedies I have seen in a while (It's a rare feat to get above 6.9 for a comedy on IMDB, and this one is riding at 7.6 I think).

If you like The Wedding Crashers, you'll also love Old School (fantastic), Dodgeball (I'd say nearly on par with The Wedding Crashers) and Anchorman. These three grace my DVD collection!

Starsky & Hutch - not so good.

Really looking forward to The 40 Year Old Virgin. Just looking at Steve Carell cracks me up. He was too funny in Anchorman.

I've also got eurotrip and roadtrip. Was boat trip any good? I'm waiting for a Zoolander DVD to arrive.

40 Year Old Virgin looks amusing as I saw a trailer for it last week.

Anyone in the UK watch Extras last night (Ricky Gervais' (The Office) new comedy, with guest Ben Stiller. I thought it was pretty good.

Unfortunately we here in the US have to wait until September for Extras. I am looking forward to it though I don't know if Gervais and Merchant can top The Office.

It was funny, but it was not in the same vein as Roadtrip & Eurotrip. It's about 2 guys who sign up for a cruise, not knowing it's a cruise for homosexuals.

Not a "teen Romp" like the other 2.

Saw Anchorman last night at my friends birthday party, it was hilarious! We all want to go see The 40-year-old virgin, too.
Another funny movie i love is shaun of the Dead, because
A: It made me want to talk with a British accent for the rest of my life
and
B: They stayed true to Romero's vision of zombies.

Yo T7, you & me should crash a wedding. We'll just go down to Gargulios & act like we belong. If anyone asks just say "we're with Vinny".

I can see either winding up dead or in jail after trying to pull that off, but just imagine the stories we could tell. 8)

Well, I'd stay away from an Italian wedding. Aside from the obvious reasons  , being Italian I can tell you that everyone knows everyone else at these things and a stranger would stand out like a sore thumb.

As for a Greek wedding, I dunno. They're kinda nuts aren't they??? Don't they smash dishes & stuff at Greek Weddings? I wouldn't want any of those dishes smashed over my head.

I couldn't imagine in this day and age (when caterers are charging upwards of 100 bucks a plate in NYC) where you could just walk in to someones wedding & sit down and eat. I guess it'd be easier at a huge wedding with 500+ people like in the movie, but I'm sure there would be a guest list you'd have to bypass.
