hey guys, i'm watchin tv!
cool movie, haven't seen it in years!
The Long Riders!
about the James, Younger gang. (jesse james)
well, i'm watchin this movie, and something has a vey familliar feel to it!
then i remember oh yeah!!! ajax is in this movie!!!
he plays an indian, named Sam Starr.
and get's into a knife fight with one of the younger bros. (david carradine)
over a chick!! (big surprise, huh?)
anyhoo, he loses!!
but, the more i watch this flick, i keep thinking, "this remind me of someting else"
with the fade's into different scenes, and "corner to corner" screen wipes.
well, wouldn't ya know it!!! guess who did it??
Walter Hill!!
came out a year after the warriors, in 80'
pretty interesting.

I watched it today too! Excellent knife fight!! JamesRemar looks pretty pained with that bowie knife sticking out of his thigh! ouch!! He looked even better as the part Indian SS as he did as Ajax!! Walter must have remembered how SCRAPPY he was!! hehehehehe

Sam Star really was married to Belle Star, and out of all her husbands(3 or 4), she kept his name----but had Cole Younger's child--a daughter named Pearl.
Though I can't say they ever really fought each other like that. LOL
I have to laugh every time Cole Younger (David Carridine) has to remind Belle she is whore. "Cause you're a whore, Belle." his expression just cracks me up, funny she doesn't shoot him, In real life, she packed a mean set of pistols!!! And rode a fast horse.

I love how all the historic brothers were all played by real brothers.
Carridines played the Youngers
Keaches played the James
Quaids played the Millers
and the Ford boys were played by real life brothers too, just can't remember their names.

Walter did an excellent job with this Western too.

and it was pretty historicly accurate.
from the sound of it, you know a thing or two, about history!!
american outlaw/cowboy history!!
a passion of mine as well!!

my mother used to say i was born 100 years 2 late!! ;)
i had a couple of great, or probably great, great uncle's!! (that stuff always confuses me!) who were "Buschwacker's" in Missouri during the civil war!
you know who they were, don't ya RG ?? :D
