Star Wars unaltered dvds

Post by Rem »

People of Earth -- thank whichever God you subscribe to -- this is great news. They are releasing in September the original Star Wars trilogy onto DVD format, and unaltered.

This is fantastic. I really can't wait.

i have the unaltered ones on video, they were the first versions i saw when i was a kid, then one day at school some star wars nerds were talking about an unaltered version of the movie which didnt have all the amazing special effects, i told them i had the entire trilogy, they didnt believe me.

pfff......nerds

i always preferred the original max rebo band song than the special edition version.
and the sarlaac is just a bit instead of some bigass beak thing with tentacles.

I got the originals on vhs, but no vcr to play them.  The one scene Im looking forward to is at the end of ROTJ when everyone is dancing to that funky Ewok song.  Its hilarious, I can still hear it in my head!  I was shocked that they took it out and replaced it with that crappy alternate ending on the s.e. version.

Man i'm gonna have to buy this when it comes out. The original version is by far the best. I hate the bit in the new one where jabba the hut pops up next to the millenium falcon, looks rubbish. George Lucas knows how to get suckers to spend money on all these versions, i'm one of em.

They may be the original versions but they are not anamorphic. Also, they are just copied from the 90s laserdiscs...

Well...that's good enough for me as a StarWars fan
These discs will be added to my collection....allready 7 discs including making of.

edit : And I allready got the original trilogy on VHS...quality of the tape is bad after all those years of watching.
So I'm happy it will be on DVD then

Will you buy the anamorphic unaltered versions when they are eventually released on DVD?

I wonder why George Lucas is so stinking rich!
